What time line up ROL?

This past March (3/30), we arrived 45 minutes prior to showtime and they were already holding the stand-by line to see how much space was available. We did make it into the show.

Depends on if there's only one show or two shows that night. If there's two shows I recommend going to the second show because you won't have to wait as long. If it's only one show that night or you're going to the first show then I would arrive 60 or more minutes ahead of showtime. The earlier the better. When I saw it it was one show that night and standby was nearly completely full an hour prior to showtime

Thanks for posting... I had the same question for 8/24-9/1. Only 1 show, but less crowded time of year. There's only 2 of us. But concerned with the Pandora related crowds at AK. We're not on a dining plan, and normally don't try to do a package or FP finishing shows, but was actually considering a package between the limited run DHS Pixar show (only scheduled through first couple days of our trip) and RoL. I then saw your post where you thought it wasn't necessary if not wanting to eat at those places.

Pixar you won't need the dining option..plenty of seats without arriving far ahead of showtime.

RoL, yea I'd only do the dining option if I already planned on eating at Tiffins or Tusker. If I wasn't already planning to eat at one, I wouldn't shell out the money just to do the dining plan.

If you'd like to see RoL badly, I'd show up 60 or more minutes to get a seat. If you'd like to see RoL but wouldn't be disappointed if it was already at capacity, then I'd recommend showing up 30 min or so ahead of showtime. As long as you can get a seat, there's really no bad seats in the arena.

Thank you! We don't need to be near the front for RoL, and we'll have a few shots at getting into the show. We'll just plan on at least an hour before standby if we can't get or not willing to allot a tier 2 FP.

We had a FP for it, and lined up about 45 minutes before the show. We got great seats! Dead center, 1st row. We could have lined up later, but we really wanted to be in the middle. Now that we have done it, I dont think being in the middle is really that important. The boats move around and I think you'd have a great view from any seat! They did not let in many standby guests the night of our show. I heard people talking on the parking shuttle. They lined up almost an hour before and they did not get in. That night only had one showing, and maybe that's why. Not sure.

Thank you. An hour+ wait time is worth a tier 2 FP (think only 2 Pandora rides are tier 1), but we usually have a hard time giving up the ability to add other FPs during the day, and I doubt there are many FP available day of. We had waited 2+ hours when the Jungle Book fill in show opened... there were people taking naps on the concrete by the Triceratops ride! I'm ok with waiting an 1hr to see it. We can just take a break with some food.
