What Time is the 4 o'clock Rain? -- Updates 11/2-4 -- Tim's surprise and Marco&Recap

I want to get at least a short update done tonight as I don't know how busy I'll be at work tomorrow and we are going to Dubuque for the weekend to see the kids and the new puppy.

They did give us some upsetting news today. They will not be going to Florida with us next year. :sad2: Their reasons make very good sense and I agree with them, but I was so looking forward to them being there with us. But Alisha is going back to school in August and they want to start working on having a baby at the end of next year. We might do a short trip with them to St. Louis at the end of next July before she starts school.

So today we picked our dates for our summer trip next year -- August 22 through August 29 at Disney and then August 30 - September 7 at Marco Island. This will change IF Mark is let go of his job because we can then delay it a week and start on the 29th and go through September 14 or 15.

Any way, back to the TR.

It was now Tuesday and it was our day to spend almost an entire day at a particular park. We woke up around 7 and showered and had breakfast in the room. We then left our room to get to the car.

Someone was in a playful mood this morning:

We hopped in the car and drove to our destination:

We parked here

and walked to bag check for me and were at the gate by 8:30 and were let in shortly thereafter. I took a few pictures as we walked to our first destination:

And where would our first destination be?

Why here, of course:

We got into line and quickly arrived at our boarding gate:

I asked for front row and the charming cast member announced that the couple celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary would be sitting in the front row. :goodvibes

After our ride, we got a couple of these:

From there, we headed over to one of Mark's favorite attractions:

While he was getting his ride on, I had one of these

and people watched. It was getting brutally hot so I went into the exit where Mark would get off the ride to wait for him. While there I took a few pictures:

Up next, you want to see some dinosaurs?

Guess what? I booked our rental car tonight on priceline after weeks of trying. $237 for the 6 days for a minivan. Pretty good huh?

Awesome job, Tim. Any luck with BOG? I try 3 or 4 times a day for you and I've not had any. :(

Nice update... I thought you always stopped at S.E. first? Or was it you just had to stop there at some point? :confused3

BOG is a joke... I try all times of the day and have been stalking the canceled ADR threads. But I did get a BOG lunch FP+. I'd prefer dinner there but I'll settle for lunch. Melody doesn't even know I scored this. ;)

I know its disappointing that the kids won't go on the trip but its worth trading for a grandbaby. :)

Love the early morning photo of Mark. Obviously in a very good mood - but I haven't seen a bad photo of either one of you!

I'd love to be getting on Soarin' right now. Such a relaxing ride and exhilarating at the same time.

Have a fantastic week-end. Thanks for the update.

Read you soon! :surfweb:

Loved the update. Never noticed the hidden mickeys there before! Now I will be on the lookout! ;)
Have a great weekend with your kids!

Enjoy your time in Dubuque with the kids and the grand-puppy. :) Awww I know if must be disappointing to hear the kids won't be able to go but just think in a few years they could be accompanying you and bringing the grandbaby!! :goodvibes

Making mental note of your August dates. ;)

That was a nice touch to announce your special occasion for the front row in Soarin'. So does Mark do the orange or green experience on Mission Space? (Michael can only do green IF he does it at all.)

I had to think for a moment where Dinosaurs would be in FW but they I had an aha moment.... I think I know where you are heading not too far from Mission Space. :rolleyes1

Safe travels this weekend my friend!!

Perhaps you and Mark need to let them know it's suppose to be fun, not work, on having a baby. :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl::joker:

That was a great update Kathy!

First of all - I really like your first set of next year's dates better than the second set. :whistle

Secondly - what a bummer that the kids can't come - but BONUS - I love their reasons for staying behind! :woohoo: I am super excited for them - you will make awesome grandparents!

I do have to say that Soarin is one of our favorite rides... Every time that ride goes up - though - I get butterflies in my stomach... But I've never ridden on anything other than the front row.

I don't ride MS either - the girls do - and they love it. I really need to take notes from you and find more coffee places in WDW...

I hope you have a fantastic weekend this weekend - safe travels. :)

Sounds like they have their priorities straight, though. Must have had good parenting. :thumbsup2

Of course!

CM awesomeness never gets old.:thumbsup2

Up next, you want to see some dinosaurs?

Sure, what the heck. :rotfl2:

I haven't posted much but have been following along. It looks like you guys have been having a lot of fun. :goodvibes

I've done all the DISmeets spread out over 3 years :thumbsup2 35 for one trip would be a lot :cool1:

Tim hope you get dinner adr at BOG...we got dinner, still trying for lunch though!

sorry to hear the kids won't be making the trip with you next year, they do have a wonderful excuse though and just think of the wonderful trips you will have with the new grandbaby :goodvibes
have a great time with them this weekend!

sweet you were announced to the crowd about your anniversary!
we are going to try Mission for the first time - green side though - got our FP+ for it already!

First of all! I hope you have a great weekend visiting the kids!! :-)

I'm sorry they won't be able to join you next year, but those are pretty great reasons!! Perhaps there will be a new wee grandbaby to take in the next few years!! I know this past trip was the absolute greatest for my parents because Laura was there! It's a totally new kind of magical experience, they said!

Mark looks so happy in that first picture!

Hooray for Epcot and a first Soarin' ride!!! There's something so peaceful, but exhilarating about that ride! Definitely a favorite here!!

I love that the CM announced your celebration in line! That was really sweet :-) Awesome for front row too!!

Mission Space-- I've always been curious about the ride, but am too nervous about it to try it!

Cool hidden mickeys at the ride exit!!

Dinos?!? Oooh! Can't wait!

(PS. I've started my TR (well intros anyway)! If you're interested, the link is in my PTR :-) )

I'm sorry M&A won't be joining you next year but their reasons do sound understandable. Hopefully you can all make the little trip to St. Louis next summer. What will A be studying when she returns to school?

Great morning picture of Mark at OKW! Cute!

I love Soarin'! Oranges!!

What are your thoughts on visiting the World in August?

Also, our quote of the day at work today is from Walt Disney:
-"You can design and create, and build the most wonderful place in the world. But it takes people to make the dream a reality."

I will take Disney any way I can get it! Especially these days.

Have fun visiting the kids and rolo this weekend. :)

We are going to Dubuque for the weekend to see the kids and the new puppy.

YAY!!! How fun for you..

They did give us some upsetting news today. They will not be going to Florida with us next year.

I'm so Sorry!!!

they want to start working on having a baby at the end of next year. We might do a short trip with them to St. Louis at the end of next July before she starts school.

WHAT?!?!? THIS IS AWESOME!!! You deserve a grandchild!!! Oh my goodness this baby will be spoiled Perfectly!!!i AM SO EXCITED FOR YOU!!!

So today we picked our dates for our summer trip next year -- August 22 through August 29 at Disney and then August 30 - September 7 at Marco Island.

When will you be in Disney?!?!? :cool1: :worship:
now i am really excited!!!

This is just way too adorable.

and walked to bag check for me and were at the gate by 8:30 and were let in shortly thereafter. I took a few pictures as we walked to our first destination:

But it says DO NOT ENTER!!!

Up next, you want to see some dinosaurs?

but of course!

Well you sure got an early start at Epcot. I can not do Soaring.. it made me dizzy, well dizzier than usual:rotfl2:

Sorry the kids won't be going with you next summer. We always go as a family. A couple of trips my son Brian has not made it. This year my son in law Sean isn't coming. But my daughter Megan is a diehard Disney lover. In fact she and I have done 3 trips without Andy. Of course she has the two grandsons and I don't think they would let us go without them. This .Dec Cody will be turning 13 on our trip so probably soon he won't think we're cool:confused3 But Connor is only 5 so we will have him for many more trips:rotfl:

Their reasons make very good sense and I agree with them, but I was so looking forward to them being there with us.
Well, those certainly are good reasons for not going. I know you and Mark will have fun anyway, but too bad they couldn't tag along.

I asked for front row and the charming cast member announced that the couple celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary would be sitting in the front row. :goodvibes
:thumbsup2 Nice extra touch.

While he was getting his ride on, I had one of these
Of course you did.

Up next, you want to see some dinosaurs?
Well, yeah, but unless you're talking about the ones in AK, the back of my eyelids usually get in the way. :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Kathy  I am 20 pages behind I think:confused3 Sorry, VERY glad to hear your brother's procedure went well :goodvibes And very very sorry to hear what is going on at Mark's job :guilty: Just horrible! Thankless, after all Mark has given to the company!

And I see Mark redeemed himself on Buzz, it was a close margin though:laughing:

Nice update... I thought you always stopped at S.E. first? Or was it you just had to stop there at some point? :confused3

No; we usually do Soarin' first. Unfortunately, we never got on SE this trip which was not a good thing...more on that later in the TR.

BOG is a joke... I try all times of the day and have been stalking the canceled ADR threads. But I did get a BOG lunch FP+. I'd prefer dinner there but I'll settle for lunch. Melody doesn't even know I scored this. ;)

Does Melody even know you are going on this trip with all the secrets you have about it?

I know its disappointing that the kids won't go on the trip but its worth trading for a grandbaby. :)

Jill in CO

Yes it is. :)

I should also say... thanks for trying for me. :goodvibes

No problem; I keep checking for Crystal Palace for mine so I might as well plug yours in while I'm on there four times a day. Just don't be surprised if you get a phone call at 2 in the morning needing your credit card info. :lmao::lmao:

Love the early morning photo of Mark. Obviously in a very good mood - but I haven't seen a bad photo of either one of you!

That's because I choose not to post them. :lmao::lmao:

I'd love to be getting on Soarin' right now. Such a relaxing ride and exhilarating at the same time.

I agree and I could use some relaxing right about now.

Have a fantastic week-end. Thanks for the update.

Read you soon! :surfweb:

Thanks, Lisa; have a great weekend yourself.

Loved the update. Never noticed the hidden mickeys there before! Now I will be on the lookout! ;)
Have a great weekend with your kids!

Linda, I had never noticed them either. We are looking forward to the weekend...lots of plans in a short time.
