What Time is the 4 o'clock Rain? -- Updates 11/2-4 -- Tim's surprise and Marco&Recap

Yay another Dis meet.

Too bad about O Hana. It has been quit a few years that we have been there but did enjoy it.

When in May are you going? We are planning for the 16th to the 23rd.

Great pix of mini golf !!! Haven't played it at Disney as yet !!! Now we all LOVED O'Hanas , had great service food was great !!Have to say the appies are the BEST!! Bread Pudding too !! I also had NO complaints at Hollywood and Vine dinner buffet either .Of course that was the Fantasmic Package NIght and the unforgettable "torpedoing "!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:Man if anyone captured that on film , I know a few BOYS who would love to see it !!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I think we are going to have to try winter summer land mini golf again. We haven't been in about 11 years ago, but we were disappointed. We much preferred fantasia gardens. But yours is the 2nd tr that liked it.

Wow... that bad, huh? :rotfl::rotfl2::lmao:
I thought it was just OK but she despised it. I donno. Whatever. I have to keep her happy right?

DITTO; that place is just as bad if not worse.
We went for breakfast and it was ok. She will never walk in that place again. :crazy2:

I'll have you both know that Mark and I have an ADR for Whispering Canyon in December. We are having breakfast there after reading some very good reviews. Plus I want to see the Christmas decorations.
Can't wait to read about this one... :coffee:

I love Disney's golf courses and how they are themed. I really need to get the girls there on our June trip.

I would never have even given it a thought to go play miniture golf in WDW; I figured you've seen one mini golf course you've seen them all. But I must say your pictures have made me reconsider going. That course looks awesome and Mark also looks great next to Disney's main man...You know who I'm going to say... Well of course it would be Goofy. :goofy:

I think your the first person i have ever read about going mini golf!!!
The decorations were cool!! crap another must do on the next trip... thanks Kathy...

/
I really do like how they have the miniature golf courses themed at Disney World. I'll have to check them out in person sometime. :thumbsup2

mini golf looks fun! love the theme! we've never gone either :confused3 might need to try and fit it in, especially since we are there during the holidays!

I agree with doing DISmeets, its always fun meeting up, I think I'm close to 35 DISer's at this point :goodvibes and will have another few to add to the list when we meet up in Nov/Dec!

I just love this place

I just don't love the price tag that comes with it. I can stay at OKW which we love just as much, if not more, for less than half the price!

Can't argue with that logic!

In case you haven't guessed since dummy me forgot to take a picture of the sign, we were dining at Ohana this evening.

I still haven't tried that one, since we really enjoy Kona Cafe so much.

I loved this glass and really had hoped it would accidentally slip into my purse.

:rotfl2::rotfl:

Once we finished our meal, I took a picture of my shrimp plate. Barry (FreezinRafiki) and Tim (that's nice) always show theirs and I had to let them know I didn't do too bad on my first visit (I posted this on FB):

Looks like you did good work!

We made a bio stop and then went downstairs. We were meeting Solana131 (Suzi) and her son Bradey and cousin Sara.

Great DISmeet!:thumbsup2

Now, for our review of Ohana. We are glad we tried it, but we won't be going back anytime soon. The service was probably a tie with Sci Fi for the worse we had. She was simply awful (and she dropped an entire tray of dishes not far from our table and glass flew everywhere). The pot stickers were good, the wings were okay, the noodles were fair; the shrimp I really enjoyed, but neither Mark or I enjoyed the meat at all. The chicken was dry, the beef tough and the pork had no taste at all.

That stinks. I think that may be the first negative review I've heard of that place.

We had not been miniature golfing since 2008 when we went with our friends Shelley and Tom for our 25th wedding anniversary...so five years ago.

When did the prices get so outrageous for mini golf?

Man, you're not kidding!

I have to say that after about the 7th hole, we had a group in front of us that were reallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy slow. They were terrible and would take more than the six strokes each and it was very frustrating. They finally decided to let us go ahead of them thank you very much.

:faint: Oh, I hate that. Glad they finally let you through.

Wow I got behind fast! I'm sorry about Mark's job, I hope everything works out. :goodvibes I won't go into details, but this year has basically sucked for Brandon and I too, so I'll be happy when it's over. :thumbsup2

I missed way too many updates to comment on, but I'm happy to see that you guys did mini golf, I love it! On my next trip, whenever that may be, I'm definitely going to have to have a mini golf day, it's so much fun! :dance3:

Mini-golf at Disney! Looks like so much fun and the theming is adorbable. This is absolutely on my to-do list. And Mickey ice cream? Yum!! :cool1:

Can you believe in all of our onsite stays, we have never play either one of the Disney mini-golf courses? We've played offsite but never onsite. However, the two are on our radar for our May, 2014 trip so I was very happy to see your pictures. It looks like a fun course!

I'm confused (which isn't hard thse days). Why is it a nicely timed photo?

The picture looked like the one animal had his head up the other's...well, you know.

sorry wasnt on the dis for a while, but glad you were able to help miss kathy out in findint out the funny in that picture.
:thumbsup2

at first i thought that is why you posted it and had to keep reading to make sure i didnt miss a joke that you made about it, but i guess guys generally see those sort of things first.

glad you liked the mini golf, we had fun there as well, will have to do your side of the course next trip.

and nice to see you picked the ice cream sandwich, i know most prefer the mickey bars, but i prefer the ice cream sandwich, the chocolate cookie portion makes me happy.:) where the ice cream bar usually falls on my lap or my feet while eating it.

Ahhh Pina Coladas are my go-to drink at 'Ohana. Obviously you didn't have enough of those to improve your impression of the meal!! :rotfl2: With another 2 or 3 you may have had a different opinion.

I definitely should have had a couple of more. :rotfl::rotfl:

That CM who took your exiting 'Ohana photo didn't like Marks hat or the top of your head - seeing as how they cut them off. ;)

Yeah...he wasn't too pleased at all when I asked him.

Yay! Another Dismeet! :)

So fun meeting everyone from here.

Very "cool" theming with mini golf. You mean you can get the ball in the hole with less than 6 strokes?? I'd be with the slow group in front since I'm sure it takes me about 10 tries to get the ball in but then cheats just to end the misery. :p

Trust me...I've had those holes where I need more than six shots and cheat too.

A Mickey bar is a nice way to end your day!

I love Mickey ice cream.

It's taken me a few days but I am finally caught up Kathy. I hope I remember everything I wanted comment on (I'm sure I wont though!)

I usually try to jot down notes but then get tired of doing that. :lmao:

First that rain. Oh My Goodness!! I actually do remember watching the news about the torrential rains in Orlando and thinking of you at the time. But seeing your pictures really shows! We had rain like that last June. Definitely makes for shorter lines in the parks. All that soggy shoe talk got me thinking...the forecast for Orlando for our trip has a little rain every day....I'm thinking that I need to bring extra sneakers as I do hate soggy shoes!

I always bring an extra pair of gym shoes...you never know in Florida. But the rain was so bad that most of the rides closed because they lost power too.

Bummer that it washed out your evening though you did quite a bit despite the rain for sure!

We had gotten a lot done and that is why I wasn't too upset.

Yay for a DisMeet! Looks like you had a great breakfast at Tusker House followed by a fun meet up!

It really was a fun morning.

Your safari pictures turned out really good too. BTW I have the V-neck version of that shirt -- I love it!!!

It's one of my all time favorite shirts.

The tigger ears with the tail were just my fav Kathy. so cute!!! My goal for Animal Kingdom shopping is a pair of leopard print mouse ears. My boss has a pair in her office and I SO want to sneak them away and wear them!

I love those mouse ears, but they hurt my head. I'm sure your boss would let you borrow them. ;)

I also never knew there was a Mr. DeVine. We finally saw DeVine this spring - amazing!

Aren't they? I just love watching them.

and another DisMeet at Poly! awesome! Too bad that your Ohana dinner was disappointing. I kept wondering where you could be eating at poly that you hadn't been to....I was thinking you were doing the Luau (which is fun). I've never been to ohana and have read so many poor and mixed reviews about cold food, slow servers, and dry food that it is not on my list at all. We've done Kona for breakfast and dinner and have enjoyed them both. Its turning into a "regular" for our trips, as we'll eat there on our last morning for our upcoming trip as well. Katie is dying to try the Tonga Toast!

We've never done Kona for dinner, but we certainly love their breakfast (we are eating there in December). Mark tried the Tonga Toast our first visit; I'll be curious to what Katie thinks of it.

Loved the mini golf pictures ....that's another activity we've never done. I just get so excited to be in the parks that I fail to leave time for other stuff. Maybe this trip.....:scratchin

We hadn't done it in awhile and it was fun to do it again.

I'm sure there were more things I wanted to comment on .... I love seeing all your photos and especially the hat pictures! but between reading at night, at work, at field hockey practice, etc. well, you get the idea:crazy2::crazy2:

I totally understand.

Are you traveling out West? or is C traveling to your area? that will be a fun meet!

I gather you are talking about Cynthia? She has a business trip to Chicago so we are having lunch on her one day without a luncheon appointment.

I have never done miniature golf in Disney. Of course it may be because I cheat and no one wants to play with me.

I don't believe that you cheat.

My granddaughter was admitted to the hospital but is home now. She had an almost completely blocked colon. It took several enemas and over a gallon of a laxative mix delivered through a nasogastric tube to get the impaction out. Now it's laxatives twice a day and a visit to a specialist to find the cause and how to fix it. She is doing much better though so I am a very happy grandmom today.

Please keep us posted on how she is doing.

Mini golf!? Heck yeah! Never done Winter Summerland, only Fantasia Gardens. And it was so hot and sticky that I was miserable.

We've done both; Winter Summerland is definitely easier.

Ugh, slow people at mini golf just drive me crazy! At least they let you go ahead.

I'm glad they did or I wouldn't have gotten my ice creams.

Not having dessert previously is as good a reason as any to get a Mickey Ice Cream Sandwich....or feeling you need a second dessert too works. :lmao:

And such a good ice cream too. I'll keep that second dessert in mind. ;)

Yay another Dis meet.

They are so much fun.

Too bad about O Hana. It has been quit a few years that we have been there but did enjoy it.

It was a letdown.

When in May are you going? We are planning for the 16th to the 23rd.

Mary hasn't completely settled on the dates. But it looks like May 29 - June 5, give or take a day.

Great pix of mini golf !!! Haven't played it at Disney as yet !!! Now we all LOVED O'Hanas , had great service food was great !!Have to say the appies are the BEST!! Bread Pudding too !! I also had NO complaints at Hollywood and Vine dinner buffet either .Of course that was the Fantasmic Package NIght and the unforgettable "torpedoing "!!!Man if anyone captured that on film , I know a few BOYS who would love to see it !!!

The appies were definitely good (could have eaten pot stickers all night). Hollywood & Vine...the thought of that place makes me  You should try the mini-golf the next time the family goes; Kyle would like it.

How much was the mini golf? That looked really cute!

I want to say it was $14.00 a person, plus tax. It is cute as is the one by the Boardwalk too.

I think we are going to have to try winter summer land mini golf again. We haven't been in about 11 years ago, but we were disappointed. We much preferred fantasia gardens. But yours is the 2nd tr that liked it.

We like it because it is easier than Fantasia for one thing and we like the winter theme.

I thought it was just OK but she despised it. I donno. Whatever. I have to keep her happy right?

I would hope so.

We went for breakfast and it was ok. She will never walk in that place again. :crazy2:

Breakfast at WCC? or H&V?

Can't wait to read about this one... :coffee:

Brenda raves about it and they have Mickey Waffles so I am good.

:goofy:

Are you kidding me? You've never noticed the mini golf courses at Disney? I thought of you when we took it.

I think your the first person i have ever read about going mini golf!!!
The decorations were cool!! crap another must do on the next trip... thanks Kathy...

Sorry Mo. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I really do like how they have the miniature golf courses themed at Disney World. I'll have to check them out in person sometime. :thumbsup2

I think your DS would have a really good time doing it.

mini golf looks fun! love the theme! we've never gone either :confused3 might need to try and fit it in, especially since we are there during the holidays!

If you can find time, go for it. You and Megan would have fun. We don't have time, but I hope Mary and the girls and I can go next spring.

I agree with doing DISmeets, its always fun meeting up, I think I'm close to 35 DISer's at this point :goodvibes and will have another few to add to the list when we meet up in Nov/Dec!

There is no way I could do 35 in one trip. Mark would kill me!

Can't argue with that logic!

You most certainly cannot.

I still haven't tried that one, since we really enjoy Kona Cafe so much.

Skip it; stick with Kona (and I've not even tried Kona yet).

:rotfl2::rotfl:

I could hope. :)

Looks like you did good work!

Thank you sir.

Great DISmeet!:thumbsup2

It was fun; gotta love DISmeets. ;)

That stinks. I think that may be the first negative review I've heard of that place.

Oh I've read several bad reviews and probably why it took us so long to try it.

Man, you're not kidding!

Almost $30 for two is a little too much.

:faint: Oh, I hate that. Glad they finally let you through.

It was nice of them (and I didn't even clear my throat, huff and puff or anything like that too loudly).

Wow I got behind fast! I'm sorry about Mark's job, I hope everything works out. :goodvibes I won't go into details, but this year has basically sucked for Brandon and I too, so I'll be happy when it's over. :thumbsup2

Jen, I'm sorry it's been a bad year for you and Brandon and hope it gets better soon.

I missed way too many updates to comment on, but I'm happy to see that you guys did mini golf, I love it! On my next trip, whenever that may be, I'm definitely going to have to have a mini golf day, it's so much fun! :dance3:

We love mini golf; we do it a lot at home during the summer/fall, but Disney does it so much better.

Mini-golf at Disney! Looks like so much fun and the theming is adorbable. This is absolutely on my to-do list. And Mickey ice cream? Yum!! :cool1:

It really is and I bet your boys would love it.

Can you believe in all of our onsite stays, we have never play either one of the Disney mini-golf courses? We've played offsite but never onsite. However, the two are on our radar for our May, 2014 trip so I was very happy to see your pictures. It looks like a fun course!

Really? You, John and Hunter must get over there!

sorry wasnt on the dis for a while, but glad you were able to help miss kathy out in findint out the funny in that picture.

After Mark told me, it made sense. :)

at first i thought that is why you posted it and had to keep reading to make sure i didnt miss a joke that you made about it, but i guess guys generally see those sort of things first.

Nope...never even thought of it.

glad you liked the mini golf, we had fun there as well, will have to do your side of the course next trip.

And maybe we'll try your side.

and nice to see you picked the ice cream sandwich, i know most prefer the mickey bars, but i prefer the ice cream sandwich, the chocolate cookie portion makes me happy.:) where the ice cream bar usually falls on my lap or my feet while eating it.

I like both, but I really wanted that sandwich this time.

H&V. She was disgusted with it. :rotfl:

Oh good to know...you scared me there.

Guess what? I booked our rental car tonight on priceline after weeks of trying. $237 for the 6 days for a minivan. Pretty good huh?
