What Time is the 4 o'clock Rain? -- Updates 11/2-4 -- Tim's surprise and Marco&Recap

Glad it was successful, and praying this prevents the need for a heart transplant!

Here's a virtual drink on me: :drinking1

If you can make it to Delaware, I'll get you a real one.

Thank you, Mark. And thanks for the virtual drink. I think I will not make it to Delaware and back to get Mark's pork chops cooked for dinner. :(

Well, after reading what your brother said to you, then I don't blame you at all for washing your hands of him. We had to do that with someone on John's side of the family. There's no room in our lives for someone who would say such vile things.

You know what, I really need a laugh this morning sitting at the hospital while my brother was having his procedure and sitting in the same waiting room as the other brother who I've not talked to in four years, with each of us at the opposite end of the room, and your post did it. I knew I could count on you.
I'm glad that my observation of the obvious could help. :thumbsup2

Thank you, Mark. And thanks for the virtual drink. I think I will not make it to Delaware and back to get Mark's pork chops cooked for dinner. :(
What??? Pork chops??? He might just bring that drink and come to you for some good pork chops. :lmao: :rotfl2:

So I left you in my short update last night with us stopping for coffee, hat shots and a photo in front of the castle.

We went and got fastpasses for Buzz and then headed here:

Yep, can never get enough of this ride:

Look what had it's lights on:

We still had time before our fastpasses, so we decided to eat supper at this point. We went here:

Mark wasn't starving, so he got the kids meal with the PBJ:

I had the pulled pork sandwich which was very good again:

While we were eating the rain started once again, but not too bad.

After we finished dinner, we walked back to Buzz and rode it:

Mark's score:

My score:

Yes, he beat me this time but not nearly as badly as I beat him the first time. :)

It started to rain a little harder, so we donned our ponchos and headed over to the Tea Cups:

Then we went to see Pooh:

Continued in next post

There is an old phone in the hat shop on the wall by the entry way. If you pick up the earpiece and listen, you will hear a woman talking to her daughter and then hear her yelling at a neighbor to hang up her phone. Then the other two continue their conversation. It's pretty funny. Take a listen when you go next time.

So after spinning ourselves silly and seeing Pooh bear, we continued through Fantasyland. As expected, the line for this

was over an hour.

So where would we go? Well, I promise Mark that I will take a slow boat to China once per trip and this was as good of time as any since it was still raining out.

(these might be out of order as I kept switching between my phone and my camera)

We exited the ride and discussed where to head next as we were walking up the ramp. We thought we'd try to see how the Little Mermaid looked as with the rain we figured Big Thunder Mountain, etc., would not be running.

Well we no sooner got outside and the skies opened. And it didn't look like it was going to end soon. So at 8:30 p.m. we decided our best bet was to head to the exit and go back to the resort. :sad1:

We got as far as the train station, and this happened:

After 40 minutes, we decided to make a run for it to the bus stop. And when we got there, we were saturated all the way through. While waiting for our bus:

This reminded me of the rain Mary and I experienced in June on our girls trip, but worse. We got on the bus and the bus driver, thankfully, turned the air off as we were all drenched. I gave up my seat to a woman with her baby and we started back to the resort. We ended up with a driver who had only been to OKW once before. So instead of a 20-25 minute trip to our resort, it took over 45 minutes.

We got back to our room, took warm showers and put on the tube for awhile. We saw on the news that there was a lot of flooding around the area because the rain was still coming down. So we missed the Electrical Parade, Wishes and EMH's. But we still had five days at Disney and had lots to still do.

Up next, our Animal Kingdom morning and two, yep I said TWO, Dismeets.

Well, after reading what your brother said to you, then I don't blame you at all for washing your hands of him. We had to do that with someone on John's side of the family. There's no room in our lives for someone who would say such vile things.

We have never gotten along and we tolerated each other when we had family gatherings for my kids and his kids sake. But he is obnoxious, self-centered and mean (probably why he is divorced!).

I'm glad that my observation of the obvious could help. :thumbsup2

You are very good at pointing out the obvious.

What??? Pork chops??? He might just bring that drink and come to you for some good pork chops. :lmao: :rotfl2:

He's more than welcome if he can make it in time.

Thanks for the info; we will be sure to check this out next time.

Loved the update!!! Someone looks very serious about beating out the competition on Buzz. (either one of you fit that description)

Never been in SM when the lights are on. Pretty cool.

Ponchos and Pooh Bear! Great combo!

On to IASW (otherwise known as that song that will be stuck in your head for hours).

PP always has a forever stand by wait. I just don't get the appeal. Only with a FP, will I ride that ride.

That was some rain "shower" :scared1: Bummer when the evening plans are ruined.

I am glad your brother's procedure went well. Is your mother still living with him?

Great update but too bad about the rain. Since we have always gone in Jan or Feb we never see rain like thy. Sometimes there might be showers. I wonder what we will have in Dec?

You had a great start to EMH at least, with lots of good attractions getting ridden. :goodvibes

That rain is crazy, I remember you posting about it on Facebook. Wasn't that the night that half of MK lost power too due to the storm? Sorry your bus driver didn't know where he was going and took so long, but at least he had the decency to turn off the AC so it wasn't a freezing, long ride there. :thumbsup2

Goodness gracious! That's quite some rain that you guys got stuck in. I bet you were happy that the driver turned off the air in the bus otherwise, you'd have frozen to death during that stupid 45 minute drive to the resort.

Kathy, I am so glad to hear about your brother, Bob and his surgery. He will continue to be in my prayers.

Last night when I was watching the Indians game I thought of Andy's girlfriend, especially when my Indians hit the two out, two run, walk off home run in the bottom of the ninth; loved it. :cheer2: (Go Tribe)

I saw your pictures of you and Mark on the tea cups (by the way, what time was it raining on this ride, 4 o'clock-LOL). I know you won't believe this, but I have yet to ride on it. I usually don't like spinning rides all that much but I'm guessing I'm going to have to add the tea cups to my bucket list and just do it. ;)

Wait... where are the feet propped up on the seat photos from People Mover?? I thought that was mandatory? ;) I swear I need to time my PM ride when Space Mtn is down. I've never seen the lights on and I'm determined to get that photo some day!!

Parts of IaSW remind me of going on the safari at AK. Other than the animals are fake and there is a sound track playing kids singing over and over and over.... ;)

That was a monsoon it looked like. Yikes. At least the bus driver turned off the a/c on the ride back. I would have been a frozen pop. :)

Ohhh I can't wait to see who you meet for your next day!!:yay:

I hope you are having a great day!!

I'm back and all caught up!

First of all, I missed the whole thing with your brother, I'm so glad everything went well with his surgery. Also, I will keep you and Mark in my thoughts. What a horrible thing for his company to do to him! Made me mad thinking about it!

I loved your morning at MK, I hope we have good luck with lines next month. I'm especially hoping for nice weather so we can ride Splash. It's been either two cold or closed my last three trips so I haven't ridden it since 2011.

Your LTT lunch looks yummy! I definitely know what I'm getting for dessert in October!

Cute hat pictures as always. I kept hoping that the Pluto one behind him would end up in a picture. I'm sure he's tried that one on multiple times though, I think it's been around forever.

What a bummer that you got rained out for EMH. I've been anxiously watching the hurricane forecast for October hoping we won't end up with huge amounts of rain.

Wow! That is some serious rain. We were already back at the Poly before the skies opened up thank goodness....another reason to love the monorail resorts...you are back in your room before most people are even on a bus yet.

We were there that night too. We left right as they were officially calling off MSEP. We must have been on PeopleMover just before you. Never seen Space with the lights on...not sure if I would want to. Doesn't it kinda ruin it?? Oh, you don't do Space anymore do you?

Anyway...great update with lots of pics. I just love the one of Mark playing in the Pooh line.....this is why we all love you two! So much fun!

Mark wasn't starving, so he got the kids meal with the PBJ
Can't go wrong with some PBJ! :thumbsup2

Yes, he beat me this time but not nearly as badly as I beat him the first time. :)
Wow... did you even try this time? :confused3 :rolleyes1

So where would we go? Well, I promise Mark that I will take a slow boat to China once per trip and this was as good of time as any since it was still raining out.
:lmao::rotfl2:

(these might be out of order as I kept switching between my phone and my camera)
So... you were having so much fun that only one camera wasn't enough to capture all the awesomeness of the ride??? :confused3

Well we no sooner got outside and the skies opened. And it didn't look like it was going to end soon. So at 8:30 p.m. we decided our best bet was to head to the exit and go back to the resort. :sad1:
:headache: What a disappointment. That is some ridiculous rainfall though... a little more than your standard "4 o'clock" Disney summer afternoon rain.

We ended up with a driver who had only been to OKW once before. So instead of a 20-25 minute trip to our resort, it took over 45 minutes.
:faint: Really??? How can it be that difficult??? I've never been to OKW and I'm sure I can get there in way less than 45 minutes from the MK. :rolleyes1

Hi Kathy
Playing a bit of catch up here and it sounds like you've had a stressful few days at home
Hope everything works out well for you all and I am sure your positive attitude will help that to happen :)
Love the latest pictures ..... Wow, that's a lot of rain and that's coming from a Brit ;)

So sorry to read your disturbing news. I hope you get some pixie dust soon and things will be looking up. Prayers to you and your family.

Susan

The picture of Mark with the tiny top hat on his head is hilarious!

And the pic of the 2 of you by the castle is a great one. :goodvibes

These are the exact 2 comments I was going to make.

Procedure was a success and Bob is already on the way home with my other brother (after they stop for medication).

They are putting him on a toxic medicine which could cause liver, thyroid and lung problems…but only for a couple of months because it helps strengthen heart muscles. After a couple of months on that, they will put him on another medication. This has a good chance of working and, hopefully, a heart transplant will not be needed in the near future.

Thank you for all the prayers and good wishes.
Glad the procedure went well. Continued prayers for your brother & all of you that love him. Sorry you have to deal with an idiot of a brother. But look at the others you have in your life. You are blessed. I can relate to sitting in a waiting room of a hospital having sibling (although it was my dh & his siblings) that you would really rather not be around. Especially when you are on pins and needles praying of good news.

Responses and an update will be coming a little later. I need a drink! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I'm really enjoying your TR. The rains certainly were torrential.
