What Time is the 4 o'clock Rain? -- Updates 11/2-4 -- Tim's surprise and Marco&Recap

Sorry I am so late!

Finally getting time to catch up on my DISing :)

Love the introduction, so many lovely family photos

Little Cookie is adorable :)

Argh - love, love, love the excitement of travel day - counting down the days before we can get that feeling again :)

I'm sorry I didn't get to responses or an update. I am trying to get caught up on everyone else's threads, I spent a good part of the day awaiting word on my brother's heart procedure (which never happened! he was supposed to get a pacemaker but they decided it would not help at all and that he really needs a heart transplant desperately).

The good news for the day is that Mark and I renewed our AP's today.

I promise responses and an update over the weekend.

Hope they can fix him up completely. Thinking of the family who will be doing the donating of the heart he gets, too, in whatever situation they will be dealing with.

A fresh new AP! :cool1:
Mine expires in October, and I plan to get a new one at Christmas. I am hoping to get December, March, summer, and October trips out of it. :earsgirl:

Great update! You were the first person I thought of when they put Starbucks at Epcot and the MK LOL....both you and my daughter are thrilled!

So sorry to hear about your brother, but I am glad that they did not put him through that procedure unnecessarily.

Midway is lacking just a bit. I only fly out of there when it's absolutely necessary. :lmao:

Yay! Arriving is so fun. I love the arrival to the airport, because it's the beginning of the trip. The excitement just gets you. :thumbsup2

Here, finally. LOL
No pics of the muffin or coffee. I am done reading. lol
Smooth flights are the best.
Okay ready for more.

Uneventful flights are always a great thing!!! The first time I flew through Midway I thought it was wonderful, but the second time not so much. :( So glad arrival went smoothly, and the faux monorail is a pretty good thing........at least until you can hit the real one at WDW! :goodvibes

Thoughts and prayers for your brother.

:woohoo: for renewing your APs!

I am really let to this one. Getting ready for church and will catch up later. Just wanted to say I am here.

Okay, girl! Jumping in even though I don't know a soul. :sad2: (except for the Pickles if they are here - sorry I didn't read through all the pages, just your intro) I know. I am bad. Very very bad. :guilty: I saw most of your posts on Facebook and it looked like you were having the time of your lives. Can't wait to follow along.

As always, prayers for your brother, Kat.

So sorry to read about your brother! Praying for you all!

Hooray! to renewing APs, though!!

Responses and an update will be coming today after cleaning house, laundry, etc.

But, in the meantime, the best news I've had in ages:

WRESTLING IS BACK IN THE OLYMPICS WHERE IT BELONGS!!!!!

Great news! I couldn't believe that they would drop one of the original sports.

Well, good for the wrestling news!

Sorry about your brother's health troubles. Praying they find a heart for him.

Oh my!
Things do move fast around here!

Sorry, Anita.

Wow! 4 pages of people dropping by even before you began your TR - YOU ARE LEGENDARY my friend!!!

You just gotta love the excitement of travel days to WDW. There's nothing like it. :) We were almost exactly 2 hours behind you! Too bad it takes us a plane change to get to WDW though!

Oh, I don't think I'm legendary. I just think there are a lot of nice people on the DIS! :)

It's the best day....because it is just the start of the trip. And it was extra exciting because I knew we'd be seeing you soon.

Sounds like your trip is off to a fantastic start- no issues yet, except for the minor delay as you approached the airport and wait for the car rental.

And those were really minor issues so we were good.

Love the pictures with Jake and Elwood!

Thank you.

Awesome update Kathy - and a great start to your trip! I love the photos of both of you in the airport - so cute!

D~

Thanks, D. That's the one thing that Midway has going for it...Jake and Elwood.

Yay for you starting your TR already! The pictures of you two at the airport are adorable, and the fake monorail picture has me so excited to be there in two days. :goodvibes

Stephanie, I hope you are having a great trip. Thanks for being here and liking the pictures at the airport.

KatMark! A trip report! It was nice to see the whole family and wedding pictures too! Looks like it was a beautiful and wonderful wedding. I may be a tad late in entering your trip report, but I'm on board and see that I'm not too late! :yay:

Awww...thank you for being here and your kind words, Karen. The wedding was beautiful and a memory I will carry with me always.

Thanks Karen

Thank you!

Nice start Kathy!!!

Love the pics of you guys with the Blues Brothers....

I say you looked just a little bit excited on the plane.... :hyper: :snooty:

Thanks, Tim. I love the Blues Brothers and it's always fun to see them at the airport. I was a tad excited...lot of DIS meets to get to.

Good grief! it's going to take you longer to reply to everyone then to write a report! :rotfl2:
well that's what happens when your our celebrity trip writer! :rotfl:

It warmed my heart to see so much interest in one of my TR's. :) And I'm far from a celebrity...but thank you.

Nope no starbucks at midway. But we do have the blues Brothers! :cool1:
Also the worst pretzels on the planet there..
yet it is SO MUCH easier to get to! Yep you were caught by gawkers of the worse kind.

They do serve "Starbucks" in one of the little restaurants on the way to the gates, but "only" coffee; I have to have a cappuccino. Thanks for the warning on the pretzels...I'll be sure to never get one at Midway.

glad you had a great flight!

It really was a good flight. I've had more and more of those lately which has eased my fear of flying...a little.

You guys always look happier on the flights going to Florida for some reason.... :scratchin

Yeah, I'm not sure why that is. :confused3 ;)

And don't worry about the food pictures. We've seen coffee and a muffin before. :rotfl:

After I typed that, I remembered to go to my cell phone pictures and he had a bagel and I had a muffin...but I got a picture of his bagel. :lmao:

Yeah!!! An update!!! :cool1:

Someday I am going to have to fly to Disney...just to ride the fake monorail! :lmao: I hear so much about it. I wonder if it is like the real one in that my kids would ride the real one ALL DAY LONG if I left them. Although, I don't see us flying to Disney until the kids are grown... and as you know, I am not rushing that at all!!

Tammy, how long of a drive is it for you? We used to drive it when the kids were little (the first time we flew was when we went for Andy's 8th grade baseball trip to Disney....so that was like 13 years ago. I'd keep them away from the monorail this trip...it's been having lots of issues.

It's always nice to have a smooth flight to start off a trip! I can't believe that Midway doesn't have a Starbucks! I thought every airport did. :rotfl:

Love a smooth flight. I think it is the ONLY airport that doesn't have one. :rotfl:

I'm glad that Andy was nice enough to stop so you could get Starbucks. :rotfl:

Andy knows how to keep his mommy happy.

Mark looks like he'd be a great third Blues Brother. :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

I'll tell him you said so (he could be Jake's brother).

Especially in Kathy's TRs. Although I guess this definitely would have been a little bit different from what she usually posts since Mark didn't have Starbucks. :lmao:

Glad to see you aren't waiting too long into the TR to give me grief. :sad2:

Glad your trip got off to such a smooth start!

Despite having lived in Chicago or the Chicago area for 7 years before I moved to NYC, I somehow managed to never fly out of Midway. Despite its lack of Starbucks, is it nicer than flying out of O'Hare?

Nory, so good to have you here. Yes and no to your question. It's a much smaller airport and that is nice, but their runways are much shorter and when you land it scares the heck out of me. O'Hare is closer to us distance wise. But if I can save $150 per ticket, I'll go to Midway.

YAY Kathy the TR :cheer2: Glad I am not woefully behind (as I missed the rest of the PTR ) Love the blues brothers (and Mark) :goodvibes

sounds like our typical summer trip by the title :beach:

Oh....so happy you are here. :wave2: No worries on the PTR...I kind of rushed through the end of it.

Blues Brothers were always a favorite of ours.

The rain was unbelievable at times.

Subbing in !! We just got home last night. Coming back later to read. Got to cook dinner and put a load of laundry in !!

Susan

It stinks coming home...back to laundry, cooking, cleaning. Thank you for being here.

Oh how I love the morning that is Disney Day!

It's the best day!

You aren't kidding. And not to mention the rude, nasty, scary pretzel selling lady :scared:

There are a lot of nasty people at Midway Airport...just saying.

Im with you, I need the caffeine in the AM to get rolling!

My family knows NOT to even try to have a conversation with me until I've had that first cup of coffee.

Looks like it was an uneventful travel there - that's great!

It worked out well and very timely...love being early to start our trip.

Looks like your trip is off to a great start.

Yes it was.

Yay! Can't wait to read all about your 30th Anniversary Celebration trip! Love the title! off to read while I can. :)

I'm so glad you are here, my friend.

Smooth flights are always nice! And EVERY trip should start with a trip to starbucks... at least that is my opinion. :goodvibes

I couldn't agree with you more, Ann.

You and Mark have arrived in Orlando! I so wish that there was a bigger airport near our hometown so we could fly. As it is, we'd have to drive 2 1/2 hours to get to the airport and airfare would still be lots more than driving.:furious:

Lisa, we used to enjoy the drives. But with the cost of gas, wear and tear on the car (both of our cars are older), room for a night, food, bathroom breaks at our age, it makes more sense for us to fly. And I can see it would be tough with an airport two hours away and getting there.

Wow 16 days. And I thought my transition back to reality was rough. Looking forward to reading more !!

Susan

Susan, it was our longest trip ever and we loved it.
