I noticed that there was a 5:45 and a 6:00 for CRT on a night when MK has the MNSSHP and wondering if I take the 6:00 would I have an issue since I am not going to the party?

To make this post longer, I called Disney Dining and she stated that I would have to book dining by 4. I thought the park closes at 6:00 and asked her to double check and she came back a few minutes later and stated she spoke to a co-worker and that she was correct.

Wow...

I would call again. I booked a 6pm reservation on a party night and called to confirm as well. She said it was fine and that we'd just be escorted out of the park after dinner.

Was your ADR for CRT?
That might make a difference, since CRT is a character meal that takes forever! It's not unheard of to spend almost 2 hours on a dinner there.

CALL AGAIN

Party Dining is set up for "Dining reservations are available from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM"

If you go to the CRT page it states for regular dinner on several party nights ...
Dinner
4:00 PM - 6:05 PM

Was your ADR for CRT?

That has never made a difference before, they just escort you from the restaurant to the front gate. I've heard of last few years they take the route via Tomorrowland and out the back walkway so you don't see any of the parade/etc but the parade is now later.

Than you, everyone. That is exactly what I thought. I have a feeling that she did not ask a "co-worker" when I asked if she could double check.

We've done CRT many times and never taken even close to 2 hours. They need to turn tables much faster than that. Most complain they feel too rushed.

I think (and hope) she is incorrect. For the MVMCP, the CRT page allows you to make a reservation up until 6:00 on party nights, and the restaurant times say dinner is from 4:00-6:05pm for non party guests. There’s a separate page for Dining during the Christmas parties where dinner reservations begin at 7:00. Another member on this board called Dining and was assured that you could make reservations without a ticket at 6:00. You will just be escorted out of the park after dinner. Does the MNSSHP have a separate dining page too? What time do dinners begin on there? I’d imagine it’s the same!

I replied before any responses loaded- glad you were here to mention your call! I will take screen shots of the dinner times to bring with me if needed. There’s no way I’m giving up that reservation after everything I went through to get it lol!

Thank you! I knew she was incorrect and thought I could have done the 6:00 since it was not under the event dining.
Update: I just checked and the 6:00 was still avail, so I booked it!

Great news!!! I also booked at 6:00 on a party night. This will be perfect for us because my girls will be tired after and we will want to go back to the resort anyway. I’ve heard MK is less crowded during the day on party days because it closes early. Even better! This was certainly not our original plan, but it actually may work out better.

We like going to teh MK at RD on a party day. It is less busy and we get through a lot of attractions. WE never stay all day but I knwo that by 4 PM the park is going to begin filling up a lot, so just be prepared for that.

Sooo confusing... I am looking for a Skipper Canteen reservation around 6pm. On a Christmas Party (CP) day, the system will let me book up until 6.30pm, and when I look up CP dining, that restaurant is not included as one that is open with the CP. I assume if the system allows me to book without a CP ticket, then that's a valid booking. The system won't, for eg, allow me to make a booking later than 6.30pm, or at the party restaurants during CP time. We have eaten at restaurants at other parks just after close time, and it's a lovely relaxing time to go, and super easy to get transport home after.

ETA: a bit more of a search reveals plenty of posts from last year (which had a similar regular hours close/CP open set up) that say our booking will be fine :)

Just hard to know if the system is allowing me to book through to 6.30pm because it's normal for it to be open for reservations 30 mins after close time, especially as regular park goers are welcome to spend their money in other ways (at gift shops for eg) up until 7pm.
The only table service restaurants open during the Christmas parties at MK are Be Our Guest, Royal Table, and Crystal Palace. If you’re finding a reservation for Skipper Canteen’s I’m guessing you can go without party tickets since you aren’t booking it through the party dining site. You may want to call to confirm, but be advised that you may have to ask several CMs because there’s been some conflicting answers given about dining on party nights.
