So we fly in at 230pm in orlando I figure an hourish from touchdown we should be at pop? What time should I have my ADR @ planet hollywood booked? I have an ADR for 530 but Im wondering if I could make an earlier one? I would like to go to EPCOT for an hr or so after. Am I being un-realistic? TIA!!:goodvibes

Are you using ME/Disney transportation...or are you renting a car? That's a key factor. Also, you definiely want to have some cushion in case your flight is delayed a little bit.

We are using ME. do ya think we should stay with 530?

I too think you should stick to the 5:30 time you have now.

Your thinking is a bit off with getting to the resort. Yes the actual ride there is about 35-45 mins, however you have to account for getting checked in to actually get on the bus, the wait for the bus which could be up to 20 mins. as well as getting everyone loaded. Then there is the factor of which resort is dropped off first. Your ME bus will be hauling people for 3 different resorts. Obviously the first to get off will hit a time frame of about 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours from the time the plane landed.
(so that already puts you at 4:30)

Next you have to check into the resort, this can take up to 15 mins or so on a fast day. If you check in online you may shorten that by a few mins but not a lot less. Then take your bags to the room and head for the bus to wherever you want to go, remembering you may have to wait 10-15 mins for a bus.
(that puts you at 5:00 or a bit after).

And finally is the bus ride to the place you are going, should be another 15 mins or so depending on where you are going and from where.

So when you break it down, I wouldn't have an adr no earlier than 5:30 and to be safe I would do 4 hours after I land.

Good luck and have a wonderful trip!

Thanks so much for the imput! I guess Im just assuming the entire will go as fast as last year but last year we got in orlando at 8 pm so I assuming there are alot less people on ME and waiting to check in ect. We kinda coasted through the entire process and it took about 1 hr total. we got an empty ME bus we had maybe 5 other family on the bus. It took off right away and was stopping at POP and CBR only. And our resort, POP was first! I was the only one in line at that point to check it so that was nice and quick! but we ate dinner at POP that night so no travel time involved there! So I guess my last ME & check in process was not the norm! I guess Ill keep the 530 ressie and hope all goes smoothly !! Thanks for the eye opener!!!!! :goodvibes

Is there a reason to to to DTD? Since you want to hit Epcot for a little bit, you could do an ADR at Epcot. That would eliminate transport from DTD to Epcot and could make your evening a little less hectic.

My mother and I LOVE the L.A. Lasagna there! its a must do every trip. Its the only day I could fit it in. If it got too hectic I would just for go epcot that night . Im just itching to be in one of the parks ASAP!!! ITs been too long (may 2009 lol). If it really come down to I would be fine just going to DTD for the evening BUT Id love to sneak in an hr if possible but wouldnt break my heart if I couldnt! wishful thinking I guess lol!

You are welcome. And it is nice when you get those quick trips from the airport like you described. Our second time arriving was like that. It spoils you though.

It is best to count your blessings when it goes like that, but plan for the normal way and then you won't be disappointed. ;)
