What time does the Grand Californian entrance open?

I know this changes with the season, so I was hoping that someone who has been there recently could tell me what time they start letting resort guest into California Adventure by way of the Grand Californian entrance. Over the summer it was an hour before official opening, but that was because of the Little Mermaid ride opening.

The last two times we stayed, we were able to get in 30 minutes before the official opening time-our last stay at the GCH was last December. As you pointed out the new ride may have changed this policy for the summer hours.

Can you do anything other than get a FP for WOC an hour before opening? Any rides open?

Yes LM and Soarin are both open. In addition to the WoC show tickets, you can also get Soarin FPs.

The GCH entrance is for the Disneyland Resort's Hotel Guests to enter DCA early everyday. This entrance is from the Hotel directly into the park.

Magic Mornings take place on Tue, Thur, Sat and Sun with a few exceptions and let resort guests in one hour early to DL through the regular DL gates.

Is the park open for everyone to ride LM at 9:30, or is that still just for Soarin'? If we go in early as hotel guests are we ahead of the masses at rope drop for TSMM?

At 9 hotel guests can go into DCA through the GCH entrance. LMAUA is open for resort guests at that time. At 9:30 when the regular guests come in they were not allowed on LMAUA right away, not sure if this is still the case, but it was in the summer.

As far as rope drop, yes hotel guests can line up at 9. But it's a trade off if you want to wait at the rope or get a ride or two in.
