What time does the campfire with Chip and Dale start at FW?

We went last year but I don't remember. We probably won't be staying for the movie but just want to have some s'mores and see Chip and Dale again.

Any advice on what time this starts is appreciated.

I think it's 8 o'clock now that Daylight Savings Time started in April but to be sure check at your resort.
We had a blast there in April!

Is the campfire a free event or is there a charge? I thought I heard you paid for your food, but no admission fee--is that correct? Do you have to be a Ft. Wilderness guest, or can any WDW guest attend? Also, is the campfire every night? I'm taking some young relatives next May and I'm looking for fun stuff for them to do, but I've never been to the campfire, any info would be great!

I hope I can answer your questions......
No, you don't have to be a FT Wilderness gues, we weren't, everyone is welcome.
Yes, I believe it is held every night.
It is free to get in & do the sing a log and movie....the only charge is for anything you buy at the concession. We bought a smores kit with marshmallows, graham crackers, hershey bars & sticks & I think it only cost about 6 or 7 dollars.
My DS7 absolutey loved it!!!

The campfire program is great. My advice is to be sure and get there early, early, early. Transportation through Ft. Wilderness can drag your times down. Also, Chip and DAle are only there for the first 10 -15 minutes. Our first time to do the campfire last year, we arrived 15 min. late, and they were already gone. Went back next night, made sure we were early and it was great.

Do Chip & Dale always appear at the campfire, or do they sometimes miss it? Are there ever any other characters, either instead of them or in addition?

Do they hang around and do autographs and pictures? Or are they around for 'atmosphere' and 'frolic'??

Anyone have any idea what time the campfire starts and ends (the movie) in mid-October? Trying to figure out just how late a night this would be for our kids (DS-8 and DD-6).

And (last one!), depending on the start time in October, does it make sense to go to Trail's End for dinner, then the campfire? Too rushed, or too much time between supper and the campfire?

TIA, Jeff

jjohns,

We went to the campfire last year around mid-October.

I did not really want to go-kind of tired but my DH talked me into it. I am so glad we went. Our children were 3 and 6 at the time and they loved it. It turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. We always talk fondly about it when we remember our trips to WDW.

I believe we got there around 8:00 and they had some singing. We purchased a s'mores pack for around $6.00 and roasted marshmallows. Chip and Dale came out soon after that and walked around the whole area posing for pictures and signing autographs.

We had eaten dinner at WL before heading over there-we were staying at WL at the time.

We did not stay for the movie.

It sounds like it will start around the same time but I would always double check once you arrive on property.

It did take us quite a while to get to the campfire from WL, go figure. The bus routes were kind of confusing. We didn't think anything of it because we were on vacation. We took the boat over to FW and the internal bus to the campfire and then we took the bus back to WL after we left.

Does anyone think it would be easier/faster for us to go to this by car from Wilderness Lodge.....I have read on multiple threads that transportation is an issue?

You still have to park the car at Ft W and take an internal bus to get to the campfire area. They only allow cars at camp sites and cabins, and everyone else has to use Disney transportation. I think from WL it's easy to take the boat, or from MK too.
