Does anyone have any idea what time MK will hit it's people limit and not let more people in on July 4th? I am expecting it to be busy, and I'm sure it will hit it's limit that day. I wanted to go to the park as late as possible, so that the kids could sleep late and enjoy the nightly fireworks. But if too late we might not get in....Can anyone offer any advice??

Anyone who says they can tell you would only be guessing.

Even if in 2005 (or 2003, or...), "X-time" was the case, it means nothing THIS year.
Every group of guests is different.

So if you intend to go to MK on July the 4th

Then you really should plan on going early.
:thumbsup2

I hate to tell you, but you are probably going to have to get there early. Maybe ten at the latest.... We went last year, and proably wouldn't do MK again on the 4th. We are used to crowds, because we always do the summer, but it was CRAZY!!!

However, that being said, it can be done. Get there early, take lots of breaks, don't leave or you won't get back in. And don't count on getting all your rides in that day. We had to approach it with the "just do what you can" attitude. The fireworks were awesome though! :thumbsup2 It was worth it to see them once for sure.

I agree with the above posts, but if you still want to know, a few years back we went around 4:00 and MK, and MGM were full by then and Epcot was full around 6:00, AK closed at normal time so it wasn't an option. I've never seen Epcot as full as it was that day, it was kinda cool to see it that busy. (the drink venders were all out by 8:00)

So you can not get in? What if your staying on disney property? Then will they let you in the park?

They have a pecking order of who gets shut out.
First is Closed to off site guests
Then it goes down the list from CM's to FL residents.....and then Resort guests are last to get closed out. But at the MK on July 4th it usually hits that level(last year it closed around 11 to off site guests and I think it closed to resort guests around 4 but like someone else said every year is different. But do you really want to be there if it is that crowded anyway? We usually steer clear of MK on July 4 but I think that it is an EMH there that day.

What about July 3rd if I have dinner at Epcot and then go to the MK will I be able o get in? Thanks in advance. :cool1:

We have a Priority Seating at 5 in MK. Will we be able to get in? We are planning to go early in the morning and leave in the early afternoon for a break. Will this work? Will we get back in because we have a PR. We are staying in one of the resorts so that should help.

I would NOT leave.

When a parl reaches "capacity" all bets are off as to what to expect.

We were there last year and in 2003 as well as 2001 (see a pattern here!) On all fo those the park did close due to capacity, but never at the same time for each of them. The first year we opted out of MK in favor of MGM and much lighter crowds where we were able to do a lot and lined up for fireworks about 9-930pm with little difficulty. In 2003 we opted for MK and planned a very loose day figuring we would be ok if we only did saw a few things--the fireworks were spectacular and well worth it--the crowds were not so bad that with a plan it was still very managable. We covered much more than we anticipated. In 2005 it was the busiest we'd seen WDW since 9/11. Literally wall to wall people, but the kids wanted to do MK fireworks again so we set out first thing in the AM, got a good amount done by 11am planned CS meals onlly for the day since if the park closes and you have an ADR you still can't get into the park and since 7/4 is a holiday they do take a deposit with your reservation fro no shows. We ate at Cosmic Rays for lunch and dinner was, well it was July 4th so hot dogs form Casey's and ice cream from the parlor on Main Street. By 2 pm it was elbow to elbow and we did the less travelled by attractions--the shows mostly and were pretty much fine until time ot line up for fireworks. With crowds that size it was best to linger after fireworks and head back a bit after the largest of the crowds. We parked ourselves on abench near the CP and watched the casle change colors while the majority of hte park cleared out and then strolled out liesurely to catch the bus.
My best advise, go early with a plan and be flexible and understanding that crowds will be there.

What about July 3rd? I was planning on going to the MK for the fireworks but I am not sure what time to get there.

Thanks

Less of a chance for MK "closing" to further guests than on the 4th, but as we have been saying... we can only GUESS based on very old (year-to-year) data.

If its IMPORTANT to be in MK on or around July 4th (or Dec. 25th), go EARLY and do not exit until you are doing so for the last time that day.
