We usually eat dinner sometime between 5 and 6:00. When we get home from work/school, we're hungry. We may have a little snack - fruit, pita bread and hummus, etc. when we first get home and then make dinner.

We are going out to dinner with friends tonite. They suggested we meet at 7:30. We just consider that way too late. That means closer to 8 by the time we are seated, have our orders taken and get our food.

It is just us or do others eat earlier dinners too?

Usually around 8pm.
My Grandparents eat early. Gramps starts frothing at the mouth if dinner is later than 4:30 :teeth:

Usually between 5 and 6, but in the summer it's more like 6:30. I wouldn't want to eat dinner at 8 pm - especially a big meal in a restaurant. We'd probably have a big snack in the late afternoon to compensate so it would basically cause us to eat an extra meal.

We to get dinner between 5:00-6:00. Usually closer to 5. Swimming , baseball etc. start at 6:00 most times so we want to get done eating then run.

Hardly ever before 7/7:30. If we are going out it's usually later because we don't like waiting...

We don't get home until close to 545, so I start cooking around 6. Depending on what we are having...close to 7 when we eat, usually.

At home around 6:30, if we go out to eat it's usually around 7:30-8:30.

I get home at 4:30, dinner is usually ready between 5 and 6.

I get cranky if I wait too long to eat. :teeth: There's no way I could meet someone for dinner at 7:30. Really, it's in everyone's best interest to keep me fed at regular intervals.

DH usually doesn't get home until 7:30, so dinner is between 7:30 and 8:00.

Wow, I wish I could have dinner done by that time. Unfortunately dinner for us in like 6:30 or 7, on a night that we get to come home after work. We have been known to eat at 8 or later at times, especially when we have soccer and baseball season in full swing or just nice summer nights when we can go out and ride the horses after work.

We eat early. Just after getting home from work. As soon as we can get something on the table. 5 or 6.
I agree, 8 is way too late.

6 or 6:30 during the week and 7 or 7:30 on the weekends!

Egads! The early bird special ends at 5:30! :rotfl2:

Kidding aside, we usually eat between 6:30 and 7:30pm during the week, and sometime between 7pm and 8pm on the weekends. Then again, we're 20-something DINKs who don't finish work until 6ish and don't have hungry little mouths to worry about.

If we were making plans with friends for a weekend dinner, I would suggest 7:00pm without thinking anything of it. Of course, if our friends wanted something earlier we could certainly compromise.

Was that the only time the could get a table?

At home, between 5 and 6:30, if I'm not working some wierd hour (which may be a lot this summer). At school it's pretty much whenever we're hungry, but it's generally earlier rather than later. To be honest I've actually gotten sick if I eat too late

Not at all. It's actually much harder to get a table after 7. Apparently, that's when more folks are going out. When we go out to eat, we generally try to get to the restaurant before 6 as there is usually no wait. Get there after 7 and the places are packed. The 7:30 idea was their personal preference (I'm not sure what time he gets home from work, though, so that might be what influenced their decision). I only work until 4 so I'm home by 4:30 generally.

We eat early, around 5:00. My kids have dance and TKD in the evenings. We eat early to give them a chance to digest their food before they go to their classes.

We usually eat between 6:00 and 7:00 during the week and depending upon how crowded the restaurant is, anywhere between 8:00 and 10:00 when we go out on the weekends. My kids are used to eating later and if they get hungy during a long wait, we just order an appetizer for them from the bar.

Usually within 30-60 mins after getting in from work so between 6-6.30 but I have no problem grabbing a snack if I need to then waiting until later.

I usually eat around 7pm.
But lately we haven't been getting home until 8:30 - 9:30pm. My system is all out of whack now.

Just have a sback at around 4pm to help tie you over. That's what I usually do. Either some fruit or veggies or something.
