What time do resorts shut down?

Since you're staying at Pop, it would be hard to get to the monorail for a ride, so that's out. The Skyliner will also be close to shutting down by then too. Pop's food court is open until 11pm, though, so you should be able to grab something to eat! Then if you want to go for a stroll, you could walk along Hourglass Lake for a bit.

That sounds like a good plan! A little food court experience and a good nights sleep (hopefully) before parks the next day!

That is what I would recommend. If you're there Christmas week it will be super-crazy-crowded and you'll need to be up at 7:00 am to make your Genie+ reservations. I would not do WDW then without Genie+.

I think you’ll be able to grab food at Pop food court but that’s pretty much it.

We flew in the day before on a later flight arriving around 9 pm last trip. We dropped our bags off, had a snack and drink at Three Bridges and then unpacked and relaxed. Next morning we hit RD bright and early.

I thoroughly enjoyed this over our usual 6 am flights and a full park day on arrival day. This allowed us to chill out, relax and be refreshed and rested for our 9 day vacation.

In the future I would like to do an earlier flight if DDs school schedule works. Maybe arrive around 6 pm so we can grab an actual dinner and explore our resort or hit DS if we’re up to it.

This would be a great time to do what most Pop Century Guests never do-tour the amazing Lobby Shadow Boxes in detail!

The collection the Imagineers have assembled is incredible!

I always say they are the most unique thing in ANY WDW Resort.

I bet you're right since you'll be there a month before Christmas/New Years. Be aware that Thanksgiving week is also pretty busy.
