Official closing time is 6:00.
Official party time is 7:00.

Can day guests shop on Main Street from 6 to 6:45 ish?

We have a wilderness lodge dinner at 8:30. Not sure if we should leave MK around 4 ish and hop to another park before dinner, or if we can shop until about 6:45, then boat to WL and hang out at the resort until dinner.

Thanks!!

Last month they had put up walls of CM at each major point refusing you through without a band right about 6 pm. They had bathrooms blocked as well. They directed everyone the shortest distance to the front.

I'm not sure if they allowed shopping without a MB as you left. Maybe at Emporium since that part of Main Street is exit only. I know old days when there was no gap they didn't let you shop without a party band.

Hopefully someone has experience with it but I do know they will be moving you to the front at 6.

If it is like in the past, they won't even let you in the bathroom once it hits 6:00 p.m. We had wristbands are were going to the restroom, and I distinctly remember seeing a poor Mom with a little girl who HAD to go begging to be let into the bathroom while the CM was telling her she had to go to the front of the park and use the one outside the gate. I said to the CM-- it looks pretty clear she isn't going to make it that far, can't you call it an emergency and please let her in- and the CM gave in. We also had the same thing happen to us on a night that wasn't our party night-- we were walking towards the front- it wasn't even park close time yet-- and they wouldn't let DD and I into the bathroom-- told us we needed to go to the one outside the front gate even though it was probably 10-15 minutes before close.

I remember CMs standing at the doors of the shops and us having to show wristbands to get in between 6:00 and 7:00 in 2018.

The crowds on party days are great, but once it hits 4:00 and the party guests can enter the crowds do pick up significantly---- your idea to hop to another park for a couple hours at 4:00 p.m. and then head to WL isn't a bad one.

Thanks, that’s exactly the info I needed!

Great advice, because CMs start checking for wristbands and urging those without to head for the gate as early as 4:30-5:00.

Between 5:30-6:00, you start to see lengthy queues of non-partygoers behind a CM carrying a "Follow Me" sign heading to the gate.

The problem with trying to shop The Emporium that late even if you could would be the partygoers flocking toward the party exclusives display. CMs guard that until 7:00. Nobody gets close to it but them before then. I know, because I've hovered waiting to buy party souvies more than once. :)

If you stay until 6:00, it will likely still be close to 6:45 by the time you get to WL (after waiting in line and transportation time). I'd just stay until closing.

We have a 5 PM reservation on a party night…if we’re seated on time I can’t imagine we’d be finished until at least 6:30. Guess we’ll be escorted out!
Last month saw guests being escorted out from Liberty Tree.

If you get in line for a ride just before 6 p.m., you will get to ride before they kick you out of the park. That way, by the time you exit (into the usual gift shop) you will be closer to the time of your reservation at Wilderness Lodge (7DMT would work well for that!).

This is what we do too.

I never want to say that anyone didn't see what they report seeing.....but, OP, should you be worried about being pressured to leave before 6:00 I can report that I have been in the parks on party days many, many times and have never seen anyone being asked to leave early or being lead to the gate before closing time.

We were at the party 2 nights ago and while I was waiting for my family to ride Space I saw 2 separate families sitting in Tomorrowland just hanging out and they did not have wristbands (though i heard one say they were denied riding Buzz due to no band). This was around 645, way later than I expected to see anyone without a band

Some years ago they had the party starting and we got into a ride just before it started. We were on webway, so you could see snowflakes lights on the walls. We got off and started walking toward the exit. As we came to main street , a show was just starting. A CM was walking another guest out . He tried to stop and take a picture. She wouldn't let him. Again he turned toward to the stage. CM said , you're not allowed to look.

I thought that was the funniest line. Now maybe he was dragging his feet all along, but to say you can;t look, sounded like a bag over the head was next.

I had a dining reservation for 6pm on Main Street. I was not attending the party and was allowed to dine.

Last night was a party night. The park closed at 6 and we had ADRs at 6:45 at Skippers. We had no issues waiting for our time. When we finished and were walking out at 8, the restaurant gave us a guest dining band so there would be no issues with us walking out late. The only surprise was the shops on Main Street which were empty ( as everyone was at the party), were closed unless you had a party band. We were in the shops earlier and the special merchandise was only in certain areas. Just surprised to see Disney no allowing guests to buy more stuff on their way out of the park.

I was a non-party guest and arrived at 4pm. When we got to the tapstyle, cm were telling everyone not getting a party band that the park closes promptly at 6pm.

Cm were lined up by the Confectionery sending party guests entering to their right and announcing on a microphone that the exit was down mainstreet to their right. The cm with the microphone also kept announcing that the park closes promptly at 6pm.

We left around 5:30pm, right after the cavalcade. The queue to get on the monorail was right by the exit, but it didn’t snake around until after we entered the queue and they opened up more queue space.

I didn’t know about the restrooms until I started texting @scrappinginontario and she told me about this thread. I’m glad we left before 6pm.

We had a fun time. Parked at the TTC, which was pretty empty when we arrived. Got parked 3 rows behind preferred parking. Hopped on the resort monorail. Went to GF for the Hocus Pocus treats, then headed to the MK to renew son’s das and took some photos, rode HM and saw photopass guy there at just after 5pm so we stopped and got photos taken including the hitchhiking ghosts, did some pin trading, watched the cavalcade then left.

In December we're in Disney for 3 nights before Universal, a Thursday, Friday and Saturday. My plan is for MK on the Thursday with a dining reservation at BOG at 4pm. Ughhh, I figured that they wouldn't start asking us to leave until 6pm. I really don't want to do MK on a Saturday that is sandwiched between three parties.... I guess I should just change things up.
