My TA told me noon but I see some people say they get to port at 10:30am. I want to get there early to take full advantage of checking out the boat and getting into to "relax" mode!
The port officially opens for check in at 10:30....they let people on the ship from 11:45 on....depending if the ship is ready from the previous cruise...usually no later than 12:30.
We had our paperwork completed, got to port early (around 11) before the crowds, and it only took about 5 minutes, if that. One CM goes through your document book and pulls out what you need to check in and gives you any additional paperwork (we had to sign a release because there was a BBC camera crew on board) and then sends you to another to complete check in. It was very easy and quick.
You wait in the terminal. They have tv's setup playing cartoons for the kids, some of the characters come out from time-to-time, there is a model of the ship. Mostly you stand in the line to board....
In line LOL...or you can leave one memeber in line and walk around and look at the model of the ship, watch TV, get coffee, and the characters come out in the terminal.

As long as part of the family can wait in line and the others walk around it would be fine. At least we won't be going with real young children--it would be hard waiting in line with toddlers.
