I got blasted last year for complaining about all the phone calls I get at work asking what time our Christmas Masses are.

So this year I decided that I would ask God for all the strength in the world to get me through these next few days and answer that phone with all the kindness and cheerfulness in the world.

Is it working-yep! People are telling me there life stories-past Christmas stories-where they are from-where they are staying.

My boss "the Priest" told me to let the answering machine get the phone, I am spending to much time on the phone talking with people. "What a Grinch"!

So, most Catholic churches don't have Midnight Masses anymore. They usually have an early evening Mass and a 10:00 p.m. Mass. Just thought you might want to know.

We are Presbyterian, and we have 2 services on Christmas Eve. There is a 5:30 Family services, where the children do their Christmas pagent, and then there is a "traditional" service at 8:00. We used to have a service at 11:00 pm, but attendance really dropped off, so that is why we have the service at 8.

We belong to the United Church of Christ. We'll have a children's Christmas Eve service at 5:30, a family candle light service at 7:30, and another candle light service at 11:00. Then, since Christmas is a Sunday this year (obviously) we'll have one pretty informal service at 10:00 am.

We are Catholic, and there is a 4pm "Children's Mass" on Christmas Eve, complete with a mini pageant and children's choir. That is the one we go to because our kids enjoy it. There is also a Mass at 6pm and Midnight Mass is at midnight. Christmas morning there are also Masses at 8 am and 10 am.

Family Liturgy at four pm Christmas Eve
Six pm mass
Midnight mass
then ten am Christmas Day

I have attempted midnight mass 2x in my life, and both times it didn't work out. I still envision that first year...we all fell asleep in our seats. oops.

anyway, christmas eve has a 4 and 7, and a 10am on christmas day.

If you want to come to a Midnight Mass at our Catholic church (we're one of the ones having it), come on over. I'll be one of the Lectors that night. :goodvibes

5:30, 7:30 and midnight mass on Christmas Eve
10 am on Christmas day :)

So we are one of the Catholic churches with midnight mass still :)

On Christmas Eve
4 pm
6 pm
11 pm Midnight Mass
and 10am on Christmas Day

I'm not happy with any of our times this year. I really need a 7 or 8 pm Christmas Eve Mass.

My mom, grandma and ds will be doing the 4 o'clock since I'll still be with DH. He has to work the NFL game here and I'm helping out so he could give his staff the day off. The 10 am Christmas day is hard because DS will probablly sleep until 730-8 and we'd have to get 8 people ready plus do Santa, eat etc. It looks like I'll be headed to the 11pm alone.

we still have midnight mass here at midnight...but we wont be there

Do you have the hours for your Christmas services on the message for the answering machine? Our church finally got a voice mail system where you can push 1 for service hours, 2 for the receptionist, etc.

Our services are at 4:00, 6:30 (Children's Mass) and 10:00 (Midnight mass) and then Christmas Day are regular service times 8:00am, 10:00am and noon.

We still do midnight mass too. We have Children's Mass at 4:30p on Christmas Eve, one at 7pm on Christmas Eve, on at midnight, and one at 9 am on Christmas Day.

Usually, we go to children's mass, but this year, we're doing the Christmas Day Mass as Brittany is serving at the altar for it.

Christmas Eve - 4, 4:15 (downstairs) 6:30, 10 PM

Christmas day - 8 AM, 10 AM

The 4:00 Christmas Eve was so popular they had to have 2 to accomodate everyone.

We'll be at 10 PM Christmas Eve - would do midnight if they had it, but with only one full time priest, it was very hard on him. He has a rent-a-priest from the local monastery for 4:00 on Christmas Eve, but he likes to do as many of the Christmas Masses as he can.

We have service at 10:00 on Christmas. We attned a Methodist church.

I really miss midnight services. Growing up we always went to midnight service.

United Methodist Church:

* 4 p.m. -- Family Service will include lessons and carols for Christmas presented by the Carol and Crusader Choirs as well as the blessing of the Nativity scene.
* 9 p.m. -- Celebration with Candlelight will feature lessons and carols with congregational singing, the Chancel Choir, brass and organ.
* 11 p.m. -- Celebration with Candlelight and Communion will include lessons and carols with congregational singing, the Youth Chorale with alumni, brass and organ.
* Christmas Day with one service on Sunday, December 25 at 9:30 a.m.

Our Catholic Church Masses for Christmas are:

Saturday:
- 4:00p upstairs AND downstairs
- 6:00p upstairs AND downstairs
- 7:30p upstairs

No Midnight Mass.

Sunday:
- 9:00a upstairs AND downstairs
- 10:30a upstairs AND downstairs

I do not like this year's schedule which is probably because Christmas falls on a Sunday OR because we have a new Pastor. Normally we have a 7:00a, 9:00a, 10:30a and a 12:00p and we go to the 12:00p but this year, we'll have to go a Christmas Eve mass.

The Catholic Church in the next town over has a Midnight Mass which is beautiful but my kids aren't old enough yet to stay up for it so sometimes DH goes to it and sometimes I do but usually I'm busy Christmas Eve helping Santa. I can't wait till we can all go to it together.

Our Catholic Christmas Eve Masses: 2 at 4 pm (one in the Gym also), 6 pm, 2 @ 8 pm, 10 and midnight. Then our regular Sunday Masses on Christmas morning. The midnight Mass was a big deal when I was a kid, but now with so many evening Masses, it's just a regular Mass.

Our Catholic masses at St. Polycarp are:

4:00pm The "secret" mass. This one is not advertised and is supposedly for all the people who come to mass faithfully so that they can get a seat. This is always the most crowded because everyone tells their friends!!

6:30pm The children's pageant and mass

9:00pm The Midnight Mass that is not at Midnight :confused3

Then on Christmas day we have a 10:00am mass.
