What time are the rooms usually ready?

What time are the rooms usually ready? We will be taking the redeye and landing at 7:30 am. We plan on going to the Wilderness Lodge, checking in and dropping off our luggage, then head straight to MK. We will be tired, however, and the kids will probably need a nap in the early afternoon. Will our room be ready?

I've had quite a few instances within the past couple years where we've had to wait until 3:30PM and 5PM for a room. We have gotten rooms before noon, though, on some trips. It depends how busy they are the night before.

I have had a room available at 7:00 A.M. once. Most have been afternoon with a coupl of them not until after 3:00.

If your rooms weren't ready until after the official check-in time, 3:00PM, did they do anything for you?

I understand that if you check-out after 11:00AM there is a penalty to you, so what is their penalty for not having your room ready?

Csmommy -- They do not guarantee that your room will be ready at 3:00 p.m. (4:00 p.m. for Home Away From Home resorts). What they say is, "check-in begins at 3:00/4:00". In practice, most rooms are ready by then or within an hour or two. If there was a problem that caused a room not to be ready until well into to the evening, they usually do something to make the wait more bearable such as buy dinner.

As to a room being ready early....sometimes it just happens that your room will be ready when you arrive at the desk. If having a room early is your most important priority, let them know that. Then they can give you a room that is made up rather than waiting for a particular view or floor that you might request. How busy the resort is also plays into whether or not rooms will be ready early.

if you pause a moment to look at how hard the maids are working--most of whom will never be able to stay in a room like they are cleaning, you feel much less irritated about the check-in time.

My family and I also arrived at 7:30am in WL, after a 5 hour red eye flight. We had requested a special view. In order to accomodate our request, we had to wait util 1pm for the room to be ready. We toured MK for a couple of hours, then lounged in the lobby until the room was ready. Needless to say, we were so glad to see our beds! If you don't have a special room request, maybe you will have your room ready a little faster.

Hi Bbgrizzle,

I would not plan on being able to get into your room until at least 3pm. That being said my husband and I have been able to get into our rooms upon arrival on some trips and others we had to wait. It is random and depends on many different things. I wish you luck in being able to get into your room before 3pm.

Both times we have stayed onsite we called ahead and let them know that we should be checking in by noon. Both times we were able to check in and go strait to our room. I'm sure it all depends on how busy a season it is, what day of the week you arrive and how particular a room you have requested. We will be arriving at the Poly by like 9am on our next trip, and if we can check in early, great, if not we will just leave our bags and head out to explore. Have a great trip!!!

I'm not sure anyone here is irritated about check-in time, just curious. My point was if they (disney not the maids) plan on charging me if I check-out late, what do they do if my room wasn't ready for me at say 5:00pm. Here I've paid for the day, & its not ready, I feel I should some how get the courtesy of a complementary dessert, beverage, or some small something to keep the kids happy until we can get into a room. No one here was complaining about the mousekeepers.

No, you've paid for the night. Hotel rooms are booked by the night. Check in time may begin at 3 or 4 pm but they do not guarantee you being in a room by any specified time. No hotel does that.

I checked into CBR at 9:00 am once - the staff couldn't have been nicer. I got a room immediately. If the CM tells you your room isn't ready, ask to be moved to one that is ready.

As suggested, contact the room assigner a few days ahead of time to let them know you're arriving early. Also ask that it be noted on your reservation. The fewer requests (location, bunk beds, etc), the better the chance of getting into a room earlier. Good luck!
