Hi lizbro

We ate at Cafe Mickey at 6.30pm and met loads of characters. The park closed at 6pm so we arrived about 6.15pm.My boys eat early too but there was lots to keep their rumbling tummies at bay.

The character are there at about 6.30. well they were when we last ate there.:)

we had a table booked for 19.30 and sat downstairs it appeared that every 30 (on the hour or half past) the characters changed floors

eg at 20.00 they were all downstairs for 30 minutes and at 20.30 they went upstairs for 30 minutes before coming back down at 21.00

we stayed there til ten o clocl and saw a huge variety as they added extra charatcters through the night = fab place

I made a reservation today for Sunday evening and the reservation agent said they start coming out around 6.30.

We were there from 6.30 to 9.00 last time and the characters came out at least twice during that time.:goodvibes
It was very very good fun.

In December we booked for 6.15 pm and were seeing characters from about 6.30pm. :goodvibes

What I liked about CM was that they made a point of visiting each table to ensure all th children (and parents :rotfl: ) got their autograph and photo opportunity. There always seemed to be one character on the top floor throughout our 2 hour stay :thumbsup2

IMHO the character interaction was probably the best thing about CM.

We ate at Cafe Mickeys last night (6th March). We were there at 6.10 pm for our 6.15 pm reservation. As soon as we got seated the characters were coming out. We sat down at 6.15 pm. All the music started and the characters all got everyone clapping. They all stood on the chairs. I have a brilliant picture of Daisy Duck on a chair by us. Even the staff were dancing.

We were told we could have our table as long as we required it, which I though would be timed. So when we came out at 8.20 pm there was a massive queue and people were starting to get a little bit angry. If all the people decided to stay then there are no tables for the people waiting to come in, so I would say the earliest booking is advisable as when we come out we could not get out of the doors because there was that many people. Also they only done the dancing thing once whilst we were there at 6.15 pm.

My daughter loved it and the atmosphere was great. Mr Smee ended up doing the conga around Cafe Mickeys and got all the kids up. I've got a photograph of my daughter in conga with Mr Smee at the front and Mickey Mouse holding onto my daughters shoulders. She cant stop talking about it!!!!:thumbsup2 :cool1: :thumbsup2 :cool1:

sounds like you had a great time.

My DD would not join the conga at Cafe Mickey even when Minnie tried to get her too.

Do you know what the difference is between booking a character meal at Cafe Mickey through DLP (£21 adult £10 child) or making a normal dinner reservation. Do you get the same experience, if so can you do it cheaper by making a reservation.

It is excatly the same though I guess you order from the set menu, which I do anyway as the set menu is really good, If you don't want a starter or dessert than it would be cheaper to pay at the resturant.

It's in the official Disney brochure rather than on their website, there's the option to pre-book a meal at Cafe Mickey when you book your holiday. :)
