What time are Southwest dates released?

The website says January 2014 dates will be released on June 24. Does that mean I need to stay up until midnight on Sunday night? Or will they be released sometime in the morning on Monday, June 24? If so, what time in the morning on Monday, June 24?

The last several times I have booked it has been around 5:30 CST. There is actually not a set time and it has varied in the past. For me I like to be up right around this time and on line checking.

This. And it has been very consistent over the last year (actually more) except for one time when new dates opened for sale on a Sunday.

I've been checking for some dates in January as well with Southwest so this info is helpful. We never really fly Southwest, so why is it important to be checking for the flights as soon as they are available? Is the pricing better?

Yes, the cheapest flights sell out first, and some flights sell out immediately.

I didn't know this and waited until 9:00 a.m. the day the holiday season flights were released. My first choice flight was already sold out. My mother-in-law was on about 7:00 a.m. and she said the prices were going up by the minute.

Per the southwest website: June 24, 2013 they will release through Feb. 12, 2014.

I can't actually book through AirTran anymore for our airport. It directs me to the Southwest site. I guess certain airports are now only booking through Southwest?

only seeing 1 NS to from on AT's site for my dates in January (including what they have posted of SWA's flights).

really hoping that there will be other options available on SWA's site tomorrow and that they're under $157 pp each way
