What things stick in your memory?

I have a real memory for songs ("I can name that tune in 3 notes..." for songs 80s or earlier) birthdays (sometimes I'll say "oh, it's so and so's BDay" and it could be someone I went to jr. high with in the 70s) and phone numbers. I never need to look numbers up except for places I only call occasionally, like the hair salon.
What do you have a memory for?

Getting yelled at by my 5th grade teacher for not studying. I did study but I didn't know how to study for that test. I was new to the school and the area. I had never taken snything like it before.

I still get a sick feeling in my stomach. It was 30 years ago.

A man I worked with who has Autism was one of the very few who have "Savant" characteristics- beat this one- He can remember events of every single day from age three up. He was 10 years older than me and I asked what he was doing the day I was born and he answered consitantly (I worked with him for two years and asked him that maybe five times during that two years), that he had ham and mashed potatoes for dinner at his grandmothers house, and it was cold and there was snow falling. He knew who he saw that day. Sometimes he would giggle and I would ask what he was thinking and he would say something like " October 23, 1976 jane (his sister) tickeld me, hehe." It was amazing, but sad becasue he was trapped in his own mind.

In 3rd grade they made us read the readings for Mass. Everyone had to have a part.

I did the first reading, and I still can remember some of the words

Gosh, it has been ages since I remembered that and I lost many of the words.

Phone numbers, even if I've only called them once.

I can't, however, remember any combinations...even the one to the safe I currently own. I'm gonna have to blast it open some day.

eta: I also remember a song I sang in 6th grade at a Christmas concert. It was about the 10 commandments. I remember every word, but no one has ever heard of it but me...

"High upon Mt. Sinai, He gave the words we should live by"... and then it's like a fast paced listing of them...

"No. 1, we've just begun, God should first in your life
No. 2's the idol rule, those graven images, aren't nice
No. 3 God's name should be, never spoken in jest
No. 4 the Sabbath's for your worship and your rest..."

I remember in the Fourth grade (about 20 years ago) we were to write a report on a foreign country. A girl in my class (some might say the teacher's pet) was allowed to write her report on Hawaii, complete with pictures that the teacher had given her from when she went. Here I am in the Fourth grade thinking "OMG, my teacher's an idiot."

numbers stick in my thick skull. For example, my wife's Social Security # and the Social Security # of the gf PRIOR TO DW are forever etched in my brain. Why the previous GF? She joined the Army just prior to the first Gulf War and gave me a cheap copy of her "dog tags". On it was her S.S.# and I memorized it.
