What the heck does this bumper sticker mean?

I was sitting behind this minivan in traffic this morning. And for lack of anything better to think about, I just became so perplexed by his bumper sticker...

Hunt with your kids, not for them.

(the word "kids" was italicized)

WTH???? Am I a complete dope or does that make no sense at all? In the lower corner were the letters "SCI" as if it were from some sort of organization. So, I'm guessing it was meant to make some kind of "statement."

Any guesses?

Spend time with your kids, don't just provide for them? :confused3

I don't know, I am kinda confused too. :confused3

My take on it is if you take your child out hunting as in deer, bird etc, you know where they are and you are not out looking to find them while they are out hanging around with the wrong crowd. :confused3 Does that make sense?

I have no clue. :confused3 :rotfl:

Take your kids hunting (deer hunting, duck hunting, etc.) Spend time with them and in turn your kids will learn responsibility, an appreciation of nature and the outdoors and then they will spend more time with you and you won't have to spend time looking for them.

Maybe the kids stood for some kind of Dog Service ? I know at the hunting preserve my husband runs they have certain dogs that you can take with you when you hunt so maybe its and advertisement for that ??

Example : (K)err (I)nstructer....instructional?? (D)og (S)ervice

Well then, why didn't they just put THAT on the bumper sticker?
:)

Ok, I get that. I just couldn't process it, I guess, because if you see any bumper stickers about hunting, it's usually anti-hunting.

They were carrying "therapy dogs" - that was the other bumper stickers.

DANG you guys are good. Or maybe I just need more coffee in the morning.

I live in Texas and hunt a lot and have friends that hunt a lot I promise you the jest of the bumper sticker is take your kids hunting. A lot of my friends have that bumper sticker on their trucks.

Hunt WITH your kids , not FOR them....
take them WITH you places (this sticker probably means take them hunting...), spend time with them....
if you do that, then you won't have to be "hunting"/looking for them...

I've seen one similar, well, that means the same thing...
"Do you know where your kids are? "

At least, that is my take on it...

I think it's an anti baby-goat hunting sticker.

In all seriousness, I think the others nailed it. If you hunt with your kids, they won't be off on their own causing trouble. The italics are probably just something the graphic artist thought looked good.

And here I was picturing a guy with a gun in the woods and some scared, shaking little kid hiding behind a tree. :rotfl2:
Just kidding, please no flames, please no flames...

It's a sticker they sell for HUNTERs. A play on the word HUNT.
HUNT with....HUNT for. Hunt as in "to attempt to find something''

If you go hunting with your children you are spending hours if not days with them.

That is still odd. Seems like with and for would be italicized for emphasis, not kids.

As in : Hunt with your kids, not for them. Then the emphasis clues you in that they are making a contrast between spending time with the kids and not looking for them later. Ital'ing "kids" is really random.
