What the bleep? Problems checking in

Went to check in last night and I couldn't even get past the guest information screen. All four of us were set as something other than US citizens and I couldn't bypass the screens without uploading a picture of documents that just don't exist. Correcting the citizenship information can't be done ourselves and necessitated a phone call, unfortunately. This particular sailing was booked through Costco during the early booking window. I normally book everything myself on their site but had to call it in for this reason. It's just so annoying that despite having had the information repeated back correctly and having sailed DCL before the family would have been incorrectly designated. I can't even think where in any email confirmation or ability to view my reservation I would have ever caught the problem and been able to correct it ahead of time. We were able to fix it this morning, because of course the call center is closed in the middle of night, and completed check in and are okay with our PAT. All's fine in the end, but it was more than frustrating to have something go wrong, especially for something that should have never been an issue.

Ugh, sorry that happened to you but I'm glad it all worked out. Thanks for the warning. I guess you never know what could happen until it does.

I couldn’t upoad my friends ESTA proof the night I tried to do it along with a perfect no frills photo. It’s all AI approved or disapproved- very stressful.

I’m also have a check in issue. They rejected my photo and I can’t get a new one to upload. I hit save and it doesn’t save. I used this photo for the last two sailings too so no clue why it’s an issue now.

My friend lives overseas and neither one of us are big "selfie" people. The photo was Passport quality. Nothing in the background, etc. I tried to resize it. I did a screencap of it. And the Mouse never said "Oh, it's too big" or "it needs to be square". SO FRUSTRATING! Finally, I found a photo I took of her sitting on that colorful throne chair on the Dream, lots of tile work in the background? I cropped her head out of that photo - AND IT WORKED! There seems to be no rhyme or reason. I found that if it didn't like the first photo, for some reason, it was NEVER going to like it. Suspect it has something to do with the file name or . . something way beyond my comprehension.

The photo thing is annoying. I have a folder on my phone specifically for photos of us that have passed before.

My last cruises were back to back. They accepted the photo I always use for the first cruise check-in, then rejected it for the second. 🤷‍♂️
To continue my experiment in the randomness of the whole process, I re-uploaded the same photo for the second cruise, and this time it was accepted. 🤦‍♂️

Yep. Checkin can be frustrating. Went to do online checkin one night and DCL had someone else’s passport info already entered for my husband. I was able to change it to the correct info, but doesn’t seem like a great idea to be sharing people’s passport info.
