what teh heck is wrong with people?!?

we just got back from watching the matrix -- very good, btw!

of course, we got there an hour early so we could be sure to get a good seat. we were not the only ones.

so 5 minutes before they let us into the theatre, this chick stands next to the people in front of us. she is bviously not with them -- just trying to cut in line. i should have called the manager (Who was about 20 feet away) then, but i didn't. so when we started to go into the theatre and she cut in front of us (and about 100 other people). i said "excuse me, this is not the end of the line." she turned and glared at me!!!

when we walked past the manager the guys behind us started yelling "she cut!!!" of course the manager just stood there.

then she turned to me and stuck her tongue out!!! this woman was at least 25!!!!

so i get some seats and dh comes back with our popcorn and soda. i'm telling him about the woman who cut and i described her as a witch, but not as nicely. the woman in front of me turns around and glares. i couldn't quite figure out why -- i mean this is the matrix and it is 10:30pm on a weeknight...

but then i look down -- the seat next to her is occupied by her daughter who could not have been older than 4!!!!!!!!!

she is bringing her 4 year old to see the matrix at 10:30, but she doesn't like me saying the naughty version of witch?!?

the poor daughter kept saying "mommy i'm sleepy. i want to go home." to which the mother replied "shhhhhh!" and gave her more soda.

what is WRONG with people???

How selfish of that woman! Obviously her need to go to the movies at 10:30 pm was more important than her child's well being. You should have asked her what she was thinking taking a small child to that movie. I'm sure it wasn't violent, or have ANY bad language right?

I'll never forget this boy about 7 yrs old screaming a horrible type of scream during the movie Cape Fear (with Nick Nolte). A woman in the movie was brutally raped and beaten. I couldn't believe a person that calls themselves a parent would take a kid to such a movie!
I"m sure that scarred him much more than someone using the B word.

Great tag line, swanmom! I remember going to see the movie Bride of Chucky with dh a few years ago and being absolutey shocked at how many kids age 1-5 were in that theater. Sometimes I just don't know about people.

I remember going to see "Silence of the Lambs" in the movie theatre when it came out and their was a family with small children there!

Maybe they thought it was about "Mary Had A Little Lamb"????

I've said it before here, and I'll say it again (or maybe a tag fairy could put this under my nic) - Common sense is anything BUT common.

We took our 2nd born with us when we went to see The Matrix - but he was only 3 months old and slept through the entire movie in his carseat (10:00 p.m. showing). I was totally prepared to leave the theater if he woke up and started crying.

You people are a lot nicer than I am. The tongue lady would have been finding her way to the end of the line AND the "parents" would have gotten a couple earsful as well.

Was the movie good??

Seriously - you are right, what the heck were they thinking of bringing a 4 year old to a movie like that!!!!! I'm sure she'll have some demented things in her mind for a while - especially if it was anything like the first one!!!! Good golly - I would have said loud enough for her to hear - your kid is here and it's past bedtime and you're upset because she's tired DUH!!!!!!
