Since my next trip is our 10th anniversary trip and it alone is a surprise for my DH I wanted to come up with something else fun or romantic  to do for him. Any ideas?

Thanks!
Lori

I don't know if they still do it or not, but when we went 2 years ago I surprised my husband with a "Re-hitch'n'"ceremony at The Garden Grill. The manager ( I guess who he was, he wasn't dressed like a waiter) re-married us in front of the whole restaurant. We got a free certificate, sort of like a marriage license with Mickey and Minnie on it, and a free cake. All I had to do was pre-arrange this. I also gave my husband a new wedding band on this occasion, as he had lost his. It was our 29th wedding anniversary. It was tremendous fun, and a memory he won't soon forget!

Unfortunately, the "Rehitchin' Ceremony" is no longer available at Garden Grill. I wanted to do it for my DW.

We were traveling with the kids in 2000 and I arranged a sitter so we could go out to dinner in Morocco. It was a great, relaxing dinner without the little ones.

Check out gifts of a lifetime . com

Take out the spaces of course. :)

Our trip last year was really close to our 12th Anniversary so I tried to have a few extra things done for her when we got there. First, we have a friend that works for Disney that purchased an aromatherapy basket from the disneyflorist.com and had it waiting on us when we got there. 2nd, our TA got us an autographed picture of Mickey and Minnie (I requested this) with some balloons and a full sheet type lithograph that had several of the characters on it and it said, "Happy Anniversary from the Walt Disney World Company". For a true Disney fan, there was nothing else that I needed. That made my trip. But on top of that, we were at the parks during Father's Day. To be there with my DW and DS on that day, I was in Heaven! :sunny:

For a trip when we were there for her birthday in 2001:
1 - wedding vow renewal at the Wishing Well near the castle
2 - GF spa treatment
3 - birthday illuminations cruise
4 - had room decorated for her birthday

Surprised her with a trip just the 2 of us in October 2004:
- she didn't know what resort we were staying at, booked AKL Savannah view
- had champagne delivered to room
- another GF spa treatment

In 2005 I surprised my DH with the Richard Petty Driving Experience for his birthday. He was shocked and had the time of his life. I don't know if I will ever be able to top that one.

If your DH is into Nascar or is a speed freak/thrill seeker, then this is a very good idea. Not romantic, but very fun!

In December hubby and I went back to the room and I surprised him with chocalate covered strawberries. It was great, we sat on th balcony at the Poly and watched Wishes with our goodies. Very Romantic!!

A few years ago I surprised DH with a Bday cake on his bday by having a friend deliver a store bought cake to our hotel.

If you keepin a cooler in your room hide a bottle of his favorite beverage in your luggage mornin of the event you got to go back to room for something you forgot tell him it's a private female thing if ya have to then slip the beverage in cooler bury it so he won't find it. If you gonna return for afternoon break wait do it then.

Men this also works for females hide their favorite smelly bath stuff in your luggage yes then you got to unpack own bag;) one mornin or afternoon slip back to the room and put it out by the tub.

works for chocolates, candy, lot of things just got to be a bit creative.

In other words those same surprises that works for kids can work for adults as well saves a bundle too

I'm going to try and book an illuminations cruise for our trip in August :hyper:

I was able to change our resorts without letting it slip to DH. He thought we had a week at the PC and we stayed at the CR. He was so confused when we ended up in the lobby of the CR. He thought we were going to have a meal or something. It was pretty good! :thumbsup2

In return this December my DH surprised our girls with his presence. They had no idea that he was coming. He popped out of the connecting room. Man where they surprised. Then their loving brother got them segway tours and did not tell them about it until the night before. We got some great photos of them on the phone with him.

As far as I know there are no surprises this trip! :confused3

Last July we were in Disney during DH's birthday.

The year before we had been in New York on his birthday and we went to a Yankee's game. I had made arrangments in advance and at the middle of the 5th inning they announced "Happy Birthday" to him over the speakers and flashed it on the score board too! He thought that was the coolest birthday present ever. So, the next year when we found ourselves in Disney on his birthday, I knew that I had to do something great.

I purchased a single share of Disney Stock in his name complete with frame and engraving. I mailed it to concierge at the Grand Floridian (where we were staying) and they had delivered it to the Hoop Dee Doo Review. We had dinner at the Hoop Dee Doo the night of his birthday and they brought him up in front of everyone to present it to him! I thought the baseball game was better but, you can do pretty much anything you can dream in Disney.

Make sure that you call and let the hotel and everyone else, for that matter, know that it is a special event. They will help you with what ever you want to do. Don't be afraid to make strange requests, you might be surprised to see what they will be willing to do for you! I think that gifts presented at meals is a pretty standard thing and any of the restuarants will do that for you if you make arrangements in advance.

This reminds me... We are going to be there for DH's birthday again this year. I'm going to need some suggestions to for something great to do for him.

WE went to WDW for my DH birthday this past Dec. He knew we were going but I threw him a surprise party the night before we left. It was a "kids" kind of party with cookies, cake, candy and champagne. I ordered a Disney cake, disney plates, tablecloth, party favors etc. It was a fun send off and he was very surprised. It was fun for everyone (and easy for me) because it was a dessert party. On the night of his birthday in WDW we went to Citricos for dinner, I had ordered a Mickey Mouse cake (thru IPO). Citricos made special menus for us, had balloons, hats...very very nice.

Nothing big, just a sweet little thing my DH did for me one trip. It was our last night and we were packing things up. He was actually carrying some things out to the car to make the morning loading go faster. When he carried out the bags of souveneirs he somehow noticed that I hadn't gotten anything for myself. He went shopping at the gift shop at the Beach Club right before they closed and when I was unpacking the next day at home I came across a cute Winnie the Pooh nightshirt that he had gotten for me. I thought that was pretty thoughtful.

We will have our 21st anniversary (last day of our WDW vacation) this summer when we return to WDW.
DH is into UK in EPCOT - so I made a reservation for lunch at Rose & Crown.
I am going to call them and see what they can do as a special dessert.
Our kids will be with us - but we still can not do an 8" cake on our last day at WDW. We would never finish it.
I am hoping The British Invasion will be performing that Saturday :)

We were at WDW for DH's birthday a few years back. I arranged for a birthday basket from Disney florist. It was a golf basket with snacks. DH still uses the golf towel, Mickey Golf balls, and the Goofty Club cover. He loved it.

You can order from the disney florist online from home. That's what I did.

I also bought my husband the driving experience at Richard Petty racetrack. Quite a penny to spend to drive eight laps, but he absolutely loved it. He thinks he is doing it again on the next trip! I told him he had to pay this time!
