What studios do you think are too small for the murphy beds (if any)?

It had to do with the breakfast bar and the door to the other bedroom for lock offs.

Now, maybe when they do the full refurb they will find a way!
Yes the adjoining door from 1 bedroom to studio is in the living room part of the 1 bedroom. At SSR that door is behind the kitchen part next to the hallway, allowing a full wall to put the small bed under the TV. To add it at BWV it would need some redesigning. Not impossible, but it would take time and money.

I wonder if they could flip flop where the couch is. The newer layouts with the lock off doors being by the foyer is a much better design. I guess they learned as they went along. Time will tell.

It would produce the same issue with the breakfast bar and door. That area was not wide enough to fit the under TV small murphy bed. It will not be large enough to fit the pull down sofa murphy bed.

So, I think seeing the 1 bedrooms at BWV or BCV change to sleep 5 may be a big ask and require way more renovations to the villas than is planned, even with a hard good refurb. Maybe we will get more info when they start BRV? But, I have not stayed at BRV in so long that I can not remember where the connecting door is and if there is a breakfast bar in the 1 bedroom.

they removed the breakfast bar at SSR when the put the small bed under the tv even though there was room for both. They would have had to shift the under tv bed a little towards the slider if they put the breakfast bar in. Instead SSR got the pop up coffee table. From what I can see it looks like BWV, BRV have the adjoining door to the studio by the slider and there doesn’t look like there is room for the bed on the wall. BCV looks like SSR with the adjoining door by the hallway so there will be room to put it in if they want too, but they will probably remove the breakfast bar

The murphy beds, for us, are a game changer. Additionally, we like to stay in studios most of the time. Can you think of any studios whose configuration might not allow for the murphy beds upon refurbishment? They do have to fold all the way down, so that is plopping a queen bed right in the middle of a studio floor plan.
The murphy beds would make the 1 bedrooms more appealing to my family. They would be better than a studio but less points than a 2 bedroom. The current sofa beds are a no go.

Thanks for that info! I didn't realize the breakfast bar was removed from SSR (have not stayed there since renovations).

For us, we are used to sleeping in a king sized bed. I know some people feel differently, but a queen sized bed doesn’t work for us. There’s not enough room for me to sleep comfortably. At Disney, the most important thing is sleep.

We spend most of our time in the parks or enjoying the hotel amenities. I hate that I MUST get a one bedroom just to get the king bed. If we know it’s going to be a trip where we are just looking for a crash pad, I’ll sleep on the Murphy bed.

I stayed in a BLT studio last fall, I remember thinking I can’t see the Murphy bed fitting. The couch was almost right up against the curtains. I was solo, so I didn’t have the couch pulled out.

Yeah, and it has to be in the wall, so you don’t have the same flexibility that you do with a sleep sofa. You can slide one of those, relatively speaking, wherever you have space.

The Murphy beds are pretty much the same width as a sofa bed. Plus with the Murphy you don’t have to stuff all the cushions somewhere 94AA7DED-4681-4103-A42D-EBE15E61D5C2.jpeg

They are not in the wall. They are against the wall.

I absolutely hate the Murphy bed configuration. We really miss the useful table and chairs
Tonis, The Murphy bed configuration is much nicer in the studio, you get a second real mattress, very useful. And they can do like SSR and have a coffee table that converts into a usable table.

Yeah, this thread title is vague.
An under-the-TV single Murphy bed/table combo meant that the eating/office table was uncomfortably, directly under the TV and is less convenient than a separate table. I can’t recall if that’s something that happened when BWV and BCV studios were converted to sleeps 5?

This thread seems to be talking about replacing the pull out couch with the queen Murphy bed, (now at Riviera, SSR and Poly and being installed at VGF?) and this couch conversion doesn’t impact the table.

I thought this was referring to replacing the pull out sofa with a Murphy bed sofa.

The under TV one could be setup with a table, similar to the value resorts.
