What stresses you out the most during the Holidays?

I have several:

1. Getting my cards off in the mail
2. Getting the "right" gift for family members.
3. Having everyone in my family over for New Year's Day!!

You know what, I try really hard not to get stressed during the holidays. I was in school for what seems like forever, and I always made sure to have all my Christmas stuff done and out of the way by Thanksgiving. I still try to do that, and it makes the holidays a lot more fun for me.

If anything stresses my out, it would be that the kids would find the gift stash!

I'm always nervous that I'll forget someone on my Christmas list!

My Mother.
I avoid her as much as possible this time of year
also getting the right gift for people without putting us in the poor house.

For me it’s getting everything wrapped. I really don’t mind the shopping (for the most part I actually enjoy that part), but getting things wrapped stresses me. It just seems to take me forever, and then it doesn’t look all that great when I’m done.

Just exams and then everything will be easy. I still have to get gift but that will be fun. My favorite thing to do is wrap.

1. my mil
2. my sil
3. getting the perfect Christmas card photo of my children (I always plan to get this done in the summer but never do!!)
4. cleaning my house
5. finding a gift for my dh (who pretty much buys himself whatever he wants whenever he wants it!!)
6. trying to bake as much "stuff" as my dm did when I was a child (impossible!!)
7. trying to make the holidays enjoyable for EVERYONE (also impossible)

Definatley trying to find presents that the recipient would like. It's so hard, I think next year I'm going to stop the presents for the extended families - it's getting to crazy, and too costly.

I am exactly the same. Spend lots of time and cash getting lovely gifts and then the wrapping lets me down.

Getting gifts
Bouncing between my parents' houses
and this year: finals and papers at the end of the semester

Well, I am a middle school band director. I get stressed about our Christmas concert! :worried:

People stressing out over it.. Really..

People take on waaaaay too much and then drive themselves nuts trying to get it all done in "x" amount of time.. (Believe me - I used to be one of them myself..)

And then there's the folks that stress out over which relatives house they're going to spend Christmas Eve/Day on - when in reality all they want to do is stay home.. So? Stay home!!

People rushing around like mad - spending money they don't have - because they're afraid of disappointing the "receivers".. Spend what you can afford - or don't spend anything at all.. If someone gets bent out of shape because you didn't spend "enough" or couldn't afford to spend anything at all on them, they're someone you shouldn't be buying gifts for anyhow..

----------------------------------------------

It's the most beautiful holiday of the year.. Why not take the time to enjoy it - on your own terms? Give yourself the gift of savoring it rather than stressing over it.. :flower:

You read my mind! I'm exactly the same way - i've set aside saturday for it and I've been dreading it since Monday!

Threads about my religion and religious beliefs. ;)

Which is why I am not going to read them anymore. Intead, I am going to enjoy my home decorated with 2 Christmas trees, listen to Christmas carols, look at my creche, and sing "Oh Holy Night" at the top of my lungs if I want to.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

1. My family. They drive me crazy.
2. My family asking why I never come over for Christmas.
3. Getting sick 2 days before my Disneyland vacation. I always get sick around Christmas.
4. Final exams. Next year it'll be that and taking all of the tests for Grad School.
5. All of the yummy food in the stores. I know I shouldn't even buy it because it's not good for me. I can't resist chocolate. :)
