What state do you live in?

1. What state do you live in now?

Florida

2. Do you like where you live, or did you just sorta get stuck there because of a job or family?

I like where I live, but sometimes I think it would be cool to live somewhere else. Our family lives nearby and we both have good jobs.

3. What state could you NEVER live in?

Any state where it snows a lot. When I was little and lived in Indiana, I rarely had a birthday party since my birthday is in February = ice and dangerous roads. :(

4. If given the chance to move, would you and where to?

I would like to move to Tallahassee, Fl, out west, North Carolina, or Hawaii.

I would have to say Missouri. A few years ago, DH and I drove to Michigan to visit his grandparents. Part of our trip took us through the mountains of Missouri, which I TOTALLy fell in love with. If I had to live anywhere, it would be there. If I couldn't live in Texas, that is. :)

TOV
Those same mountains are what I keep going on and on about in northern Arkansas. I love the Ozark people too and would move in two minutes. Well, anywhere up there but Branson that is. It's way too crowded just like Orlando!

1. What state do you live in now? NJ

2. Do you like where you live, or did you just sorta get stuck there because of a job or family? I like it 'cause my family & my fiance's here, but I don't like it 'cause of all the snow.

3. What state could you NEVER live in? Probably FL - it would be nice to be close to Disney, but they have all the hurricans & stuff.

4. If given the chance to move, would you and where to? SC - my parents have a second house there, & no snow :p

1. Michigan

2. It's OK because I'm close to my family and I love going up to Mackinaw City in the summers.

3. California. Had my chance and said no. Too scared of earthquakes.

4. Florida at least in the winter. :)

Earthquakes really aren't that bad, but I guess we are afraid of the unknown as I am terrified of Tornadoes.

We have had one major earthquake in 11 years, not too bad! Plus you get use to the little ones and say things like "hmmm, not even a 4.0"

1 Illinois

2 No we are really not happy here. We stay here for my MIL because she won't leave her grandchildren.

3 Nebraska.

4 Nevada

1. What state do you live in now?
Virginia

2. Do you like where you live, or did you just sorta get stuck there because of a job or family?
We love where we live. We chose to move here and have no regrets at all.

3. What state could you NEVER live in?
No offense to anyone, but if I had to chose one state it would be Arkansas.

4. If given the chance to move, would you and where to?
If money were not an obstacle than I would move back home to Orange County, New York.

1. What state do you live in now? Kansas

2. Do you like where you live, or did you just sorta get stuck there because of a job or family? It's been good, but it's time to go

3. What state could you NEVER live in? I don't think I'd rule out any of them altogether, but Alaska seems pretty unlikely.

4. If given the chance to move, would you and where to? Central Florida :earsboy:

1. Louisiana.

2. Although I was born and raised here, I do love it. We have a unique culture and you just can't beat the food!!!

3. Anywhere with a "real" winter. I've never even seen more than 2 inches of snow.

4. If Katrina didn't move me...nothing can!!! :rotfl:

Iowa.

Born and raised, but it does have its plus side. We have good schools, affordable housing, and (for the most part) friendly people. If my friends and family were not here, I would consider leaving but I wont leave them. (OH, and I am NOT ON A FARM :rotfl: Our town's metropolitan area has about 160,000 I think).

I wouldnt want to live any further north than here! We have a couple feet of snow already this year and Im already sick of it!

I would like to experience living along either coast, in a large city, but I really dont think I would want to live in a large city forever. I would love florida in the winter, but the summer heat gets to me too much.

QUOTE]

Its so weird how people are scared of the unknown. Earthquakes scare me, but tornadoes dont even phase me. I have never had any property damaged by a tornado living in the midwest for almost 26 years. Only once as a child do I remember seeing vivid shots of an actual tornado in the sky, and that was at my grandparents house in NE.

just bumping~what an interesting thread :goodvibes

"GIVE ME LOUISIANA"
by Doralice Fontane

Give me Louisiana,
The state where I was born
The state of snowy cotton,
The best I've ever known;
A state of sweet magnolias
And creole melodies
Oh give me Louisiana,
The state where I was born
Oh what sweet old memories
The mossy old oaks bring
It brings us the story of our Evangeline
A state of old tradition,
Of old plantation days
Makes good old Louisiana
The sweetest of all states.

Give me Louisiana,
A state prepared to share
That good old southern custom,
Hospitality so rare;
A state of fruit and flowers,
Of sunshine and spring showers
Oh give me Louisiana,
The state where I was born
Its woodlands, Its marshes
Where humble trappers live
Its rivers, Its valleys,
A place to always give
A state where work is pleasure,
With blessings in full measure
Makes good old Louisiana
The dearest of all states.

Give me Louisiana,
Where love birds always sing
In shady lanes or pastures,
The cowbells softly ring;
The softness of the sunset
Brings peace and blissful rest
Oh give me Louisiana,
The state where I was born
The smell of sweet clover
Which blossoms everywhere
The fresh new mown hay
Where children romp and play
A state of love and laughter,
A state for all here after
Makes good old Louisiana
The grandest of all states.

hehe, can you guess where I live? lol ;) :rolleyes1

1. What state do you live in now?
Hawaii

2. Do you like where you live, or did you just sorta get stuck there because of a job or family?
I enjoy where I live. The people are nice, the weather is nice, but I didn't come here because of a sentimental attachment, fondness of weather, etc., etc (like alot of people do). The move was purely job related - otherwise I wouldn't be here.
3. What state could you NEVER live in?
Any Red State. Give me Blue - either coast and I'm happy.
4. If given the chance to move, would you and where to?

I would move back to Seattle.

1. What state do you live in now?
Chaos. Uh, wrong kind of state...Florida
2. Do you like where you live, or did you just sorta get stuck there because of a job or family?
No, I got unstuck. Love where I live, moved here to be closer to family, actually.
3. What state could you NEVER live in?
Any state that gets lots of snow.
4. If given the chance to move, would you and where to?
If money were no object, I'd venture a move to Hawaii. The idea of having to have everything flown or shipped in is a deal breaker.

New York
I lived here all my life. I hate it here. It is too crowded. I hate the cold. I tired of people`s attitudes. My husband was given a chance to relocate to Orlando. I was willing to go. But my family was giving me a hard time.

I can never live where it is very cold and snowy.

I would either move west to Las Vegas or Arizona. Or to Florida. :paw:

1. I live in Arkansas
2. I have always lived here as has my DH. It really is a pretty state with 4 distinct seasons, and all of my family is here. I don't think I could move far away from them.
3. I don't think I could live where there is lots of snow. It is just too cold.
4. If I had a chance to move all of my family with me, I think I would like to live in Florida. Gotta be closer to the Mouse so I can save on airfare and get to go more often. I also want to get those Florida resident rates

I just finished reading everyone's responses and it was fun to read. Quite a few people said they could never live in Alaska or California which was interesting especially having lived in SoCal for over 25 yrs myself.

Lots of others said they could never live where it snows. I used to say that too and now I live in Northern Michigan and just spent over an hour shoveling snow!! So those who said that you should "never say never" are probably the smart ones. ;)

Anyways it was fun to see the different replies and how, what is paradise for one, may be torture for another. :goodvibes

1. What state do you live in now? Virginia

2. Do you like where you live, or did you just sorta get stuck there because of a job or family? I like it okay, but I've lived here all of my life so I don't know any better ;)

3. What state could you NEVER live in? Pennsylvania, have never, not once, had a positive experience in that state!!!!

4. If given the chance to move, would you and where to? Yes, not sure, somewhere warm and near the ocean- FL or HI maybe
