Actually this is a 4 part question. I'm just really curious to see the answers.

1. What state do you live in now?

2. Do you like where you live, or did you just sorta get stuck there because of a job or family?

3. What state could you NEVER live in?

4. If given the chance to move, would you and where to?

My answers are:
1. Michigan

2. We are here solely to be close to family and the winters are really a pain in the you-know-what!

3. Florida, because, although I can handle heat, I lived in Southern CA after all, I can't handle the humidity. Those two together put me in a foul mood. Plus there's the whole hurricane thing.

4. I would move in a heart beat back to CA but the Central part along the coast, like Carmel or Monterey. So pretty there, but so expensive. Maybe someday.

2. Solely here because of DH's family. I HATE the snow!!!!(even though I grew up here too)
3. Florida because of the hurricanes and the insane price of housing down there now.
4. The Carolinas -- North or South. We may be heading there this coming summer to check things out and find out if we could "really" live there.

1. South Carolina (But we actually just moved here about 4 months ago.)

2. I LOVE where we live, which is why we moved, but the last 2 months have been hard being further away from family for the holidays. They are all in PA.

3. Somewhere really cold like Maine or Montana or something I can't take the cold and I hate driving in snow and ice!

4. If I had unlimited funds to move again and would not have to worry about travel to see family I think I'd maybe go further south to Florida or to California (I've never seen the west coast, and the show Laguna Beach peaked my interest . I wanna be LC! )
ETA: I think I would actually stay here in Charleston, I just answered for the sake of not being a party pooper for the question

2. Love it here. I was born here and grew up here. My GF and I moved to CT for 2 years and hated it, and moved back immidiately after we were married.
3. I can't rule any state out.....not even Alaska!
4. No, we wouldn't move....until retirement which if my plans come to fruition will be within 6 years. Jan 1 to May 1 in Orlando and then May 1 to Dec 31 in RI.

Love it. We live about an hour from our hometown. Nice "buffer" zone from family.

1) California-too liberal 2) Any northeast or mid-west state-great to visit but too cold!

If given a choice, we would stay in the south-Florida, Carolina's, Tennessee, Missouri, ???

It's kind of hard to think about leaving--we are fairly close with my dad and I think it would crush him. I despise winter more and more each year. We don't ski, so the snow and cold and driving on the ice just aren't any fun for us.

3. What state could you NEVER live in? New Mexico

4. If given the chance to move, would you and where to? I suppose I have the chance to move whenever I want, but I don't. We really do want to live in Southern California someday.

3. What state could you NEVER live in? California. Earthquakes scare me. At least with hurricanes you have a warning.

4. If given the chance to move, would you and where to? I would seriously consider moving to NYC. I love city life, and that would be the ultimate.

I love it in the summer, hate it in the winter...am stuck for 7 more years until I can retire!

I want to move to Florida when I retire, at least for the winters...

It is starting to grow on me.. But I did get stuck here because of family. My DH was born and raised here.

I'll mimik jimmiej and say California, too liberal, even though I was born and raised in LA.

I'd move back to Switzerland. or Maybe New York and Paris. A big metropolitan area.

2. Do you like where you live, or did you just sorta get stuck there because of a job or family? Luckily born and raised here. Yeah, it's expensive, but that's because it's Awesome!
3. What state could you NEVER live in? Any state East of here.
4. If given the chance to move, would you and where to? I like Hawaii, but this is better - even with a bonehead Governor.

2. I love it! I am here because I was born and raised here, met and married my husband who was born and raised here.
3. ND, SD, Nebraska,Minnesota, all those cold states-plus anywhere where the biggest city is like 100,000 people and you have to drive 4 hours to reach it.LOL
4. I truly can't imagine living anywhere else..if I HAD to move, if my brother and SIL plus my inlaws and my friends would move with me(LOL) probably VA or MA. I like living close to a major city(we are a close suburb of NYC), the shore and the mountains...and I am an East Coast girl.

3. What state could you NEVER live in? Probably someplace out west, I couldn't stand to be "land locked." I need the ocean semi-close by for a quick get away!

4. If given the chance to move, would you and where to? I'd love to move back to Pennsylvania. That's where my family is and that's where I grew up, went to school, got married, etc. I couldn't relocate until my boys are through H.S., I wouldn't want to do that to them at this point in their lives unless we had no other choice.

My answers are:

1. New Hampshire

2. I like it here most of the time, the change of seasons is nice but winter is way too long. We live in a small town which gets boring at times.

3. None really.

4. Virginia, Florida are my favorites but I would try living anywhere!

I like it okay - much better than Oklahoma where I was born and raised. My part of Texas is quite boring scenery-wise and outdoor-stuff wise, but my parents and in-laws are nearby which is nice. Plus Texas is pretty inexpensive, is centrally located within the US, and our winters (while still too cold for me ) are pretty mild.

3. What state could you NEVER live in?

Probably Alaska because it is so far away from the rest of the states, and I despise the coldness and the darkness of winter.

4. If given the chance to move, would you and where to?

Florida. It is warm and tons of people would come visit us there, including my DIS friends .

we live in northern california (an hour and a half in one direction from the ski slopes of the sierra nevadas, an hour and half in another direction from the coast).

born and raised here (both dh and myself)-WE HATE IT!!!

we would never move to ??? interesting question-we want to move out of state this year and are mulling over other states. only factors we can determine is: we don't want anyplace as "p.c." as california (but then is there anyplace that could possibly be ), no massive snow (although we long to live somewhere where there are truly seasons, no just temperature variances), no massive humidity (i can deal with dry heat-but humidity just kills me).

if i could move anywhere (and without worries of weather, jobs, anything) it would be alaska. it is the most beautiful, unspoiled place i have ever seen.

Hi Jimmie. It really depends on what part of Ca.. Ther are whole counties,like Orange county that lean right..Ca was also one of the first states in the US to ban gay marriage..It's not as liberal as you would expect
