What Souvenirs Are Worth The Money At A Disney Park? article on the DIS

We bought all 4 of the You are here mugs from Starbucks. It's fun to pick a mug each morning and picture ourselves at the park (of course we were just there last week so the memory is still pretty good right now LOL)

I love mugs! They're the best souvenir! I have so many mugs that I've started to display them on top of the cabinets in our apartment. I'd love to get the You Are Here mugs during our trip in September. I don't know how many new mugs they'll have, but I know I'm going to grab a Haunted Mansion one that I regret not getting because I thought I'd be able to get it online. If they have any new Alice, Jasmine, and Rapunzel mugs I'll definitely get them! Maybe I can convince DH to let me get some of the Haunted Mansion dishes this trip. :scratchin

I'm keen on getting a Starbucks you are here mug too on my next vacation. But I would caution about some of the other WDW mugs. Some are not dishwasher safe. I bought one of the vintage posters Magic Kingdom mugs last fall (retro scenes of Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Monorail & 1000 Leagues) & either didn't see the tiny, tiny sticker on the bottom that said not dishwasher safe or the price tag had been slapped over top. When I got home, it became a pencil holder. When I was at the F&W Festival, there were unhappy guests in line in front of me at the Festival Centre complaining to the CM at the gift shop that the gilt F&W logos on the wine glasses they had recently purchased for use in their DVC rental had washed off completely in the dishwasher. Sadly, not all WDW souvenirs are good quality despite the high price tag. You really have to look carefully before you put down your money. :sad2:

We also love mugs. DH drinks coffee out of his large "Mine, Mine, Mine" mug almost everyday. DH and I both love all our WDW tee-shirts. We wear Disney shirts all the time.

I love my photo album made with the memory maker back then it was photo pass +, and the wooden frames to put the special moments pics :D

The Shag souvenir art commemorating Disney's 40th anniversary. It shows the World as it was when it opened. We visited during that anniversary year so it was an appropriate purchase. I love it!

We purchased the Shag coasters that year and we use them often! The Shag memorabilia is a nice reminder of WDW in simpler times. The pack of six coasters was small enough to fit in to the corner of a suitcase.

Several WDW photo albums with the bronze Castle medallion on the front cover are sitting on the floor waiting for me to place the pics from our last trip. They are good quality and hold a surprising number of photos.

We never realized until reading threads here much later that balloons weren't allowed on the airplane. We had a Mickey balloon on DD's 2013 trip, and Southwest let us board with it. We had bought her a seat (she was 15 months old), she was rear facing in her car seat, and the balloon fit in the space where a person's legs would normally go. We didn't sneak it on or do anything to break any rules, we never had anyone say anything to us. If they had we, of course, would have followed whatever it was we were asked. The balloon lasted throughout the flight and for a few weeks after we got home. In reading the threads since, I completely understand why they aren't allowed, and it isn't something we'll ever try to do again (we'll gift it to someone in the resort or airport most likely), but it was a wonderful souvenir to have in our house for the few weeks after the trip. DD was fascinated by it!

I have a few favorites: a knit jacket I got over the 40th that is retro styled (it was pretty pricey, too), and a pair of light rain jacket/windbreakers that stuff into their own pocket, and a black and white Mickey wristwatch. Every time I go to DL or WDW, I bring them out and packing them helps get me into the Disney mood ... plus, they're really quite useful, especially going to DL where there's a time change so I just use the second watch - although sadly with a Microsoft Band and my MagicBand the watch probably won't come out this trip. :(

I also do Christmas ornaments, which are small to store and fun to bring out every year, and have a couple sets of ears. :)

I think on my next trip I want a baseball style hat, since I always bring one into the parks (keeps rain off of my glasses).

I get a watch on every trip, I think have 13 or 14 now. I also get a Christmas decoration and usually a D&B purse. The last 10 years I've been buying a mask from Italy as well. I also have about 10 mugs, heaven knows how many TShirts and sweatshirts. Don't even get me started on the jewelry. I always buy either a silver or gold charm to go on one of my three charm bracelets.

Mugs, wine glasses and shot glasses! Basically any glassware. Also the Alex and Ani Bracelets. I've bought five different ones at this point, although I only bought three of them actually at the World. I'm also a fan of the Thomas Kinkade paintings, but instead of spending a lot of money on the prints, I buy the puzzles at Disney World, put them together then glue and frame them (:

This thread makes me sad because I screwed up. When we were there two weeks ago, I fell in love with a set of 4 glass Christmas ornaments that were painted to look like Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto. I had that set in my hands 4 times. I even had it in my hands, in line, at the Christmas Shoppe in Liberty Square, but there was an issue with the transaction for the person in front of me and we had an ADR to get to so I put them back on the shelf and left. I never did by them, and boy do I regret it! *sigh* oh, well. I am excited for all of you that have cherished items to remind you of your trips!

I hope I'm able to find all 4. I worked at SBux for 7 years and have quite the collection of the city mugs. The Disney ones would be a welcomed addition.

You could probably call the Disney world merchandise phone # and order them over the phone

I have so plush Mickey that represents each park

Regular Tux: Magic Kingdom
Epcot: Space Suit
animal kingdom: safari suit
Hollywood studios: Him in his robe and hat
blizzard Beaxh: Scooba Mickey

Otherwise honestly.....nothing I really want to spend that much money on to buy

My mug collection...so much fun to choose a different one every morning....(today it's the castle) and my Garbage can salt shaker....don't ask me why but that Adventureland shaker sits by the stove and gets used multiple times a day, it just makes me smile. we have about a million souvies...but those are my faves- and I like the towels we've collected over the years, stuff we really use

My much too big hoodies. I have two, both purchased out of necessity rather than planning to buy them but im so glad i did! One is a pull over Mickey hoody purchased at DTD as we were heading to lunch there and got caught in a storm. Since wr were going into an air conditioned restaurant for 1hr+ we thought best to get something warm! Lasted 6 years so far and still going strong!
The other is an incredibly oversized Oswald hoody which was the last in the store and we didn't see another the whole trip. It was a chilly March day and my jacket just wasnt cutting it so it had to be purchased! I love them both dearly and wear them quite a lot!

I don't own any WDW mugs, they tend to have a saying about not being awake until coffee and thats just not me. Im a tea drinker and would just feel wrong. I do have plenty of Disney mugs from Paris and the Disney Store, however!

I love getting a Christmas ornament every time we take a vacation. Such a nice reminder of all the fun we have had!

This trip I would like to get a coffee mug as well. And a photo frame.

We did pick a pearl last trip and it made for nice souvenirs.
