I just got my first for christmas and I have seen this thread before but what do you listen to when you work out. I have a bunch of Rocky stuff, Lose Yourself by Eminem, America by Neil Diamond. Also some Metallica, GreenDay, GnR and so on.

What are the need to haves that I am missing and what are your favorites.

Thanks
Scott

I go in phases for my playlists. Sometimes I feel like Pop/Top 40 stuff, I can always go for 80's rock, and every once in awhile some country (just a very little bit).

I think my overall favorite groups to run to are ACDC, Metallica, Green Day, Eminem, Def Leppard, Linken Park, and Guns N Roses.

Wow, I guess there's a lot of Rock in that group. :)

Of course, any dance remixes are always great to run to. It really depends on what you like. I've found for longer runs, I like to listen to slower stuff, even some things with classical or jazz in them, and for the shorter/faster runs, I prefer the faster and harder stuff.

I will be loading my IPOD next year with songs that match my running tempo--steady beat..could be most anything..but of course has to be something I can enjoy.

I am not ashamed to admit that most of the songs on ABBA's Gold Greatest Hits album will be making my playlist. The tempo just works for me and I just love their music.

A few of my favorites:
"Open Your Eyes" by Alter Bridge
"Crawling", "Breaking the Habit", "Numb" all by Linkin Park
Almost all of the songs from the album Shout at the Devil by Motley Crue.
"Panama" by Van Halen
"Animals" by Nickleback
"Crackling Rose" by Neil Diamond
"Come on Feel the Noize", "Metal Health" by Quiet Riot
"I Wanna Rock", "We're not gonna take it" by Twisted Sister
I love this new age of audio, I still remember when having a Walkman (the cassette playing one) was a coolthing.
