I think I know why the Over the Rainbow song makes you tear up. I saw that you are an ER freak and it makes you tear up because they played it when Mark died right? Awwwwww, so sad. :( That song used to be the theme song for eToys on their commercials and it never made me tear up then but it does now.

Ave Maria -- I even lost it in church.

Wind Beneath my Wings -- That came out a few months before my dad died. I always think of him whenever I hear it.

Ave Marie, One Sweet Day (Boyz II Men & Mariah Carey), and November Rain (Guns N' Roses)

Somewhere out there from American Tail... gets me all the time.. I am also a weeping mess when we sing in church... Let there Peace on Earth and the Ave Maria especially sung by Pavarotti or Andrea Bocelli, but sung beautifully by anyone can do it....that one is a tough one too..At Christmas, O Holy Night gets me.. especially the part "fall on your knees, o hear the Angel's voices, etc."

Butterfly Kisses since I have 2 little girls
Numerous others I can't think of right now..

Yup, ya figured me out... he was my hero... long story... you know broken home and everything so i turned to da tube. The Promise is also from ER, It played while Elisabeth Corday was thinking about Mark, arfter she had a moment with Romano...

Where do I start???

Ave Maria - we played it 24 hours a day at home when dad was dying. One of his last requests was to be able to hear a Latin Mass again. We found a CD of one, and this song was part of it. We played it at his funeral, and at my wedding. Very emotional.

Lightening Crashes (Live) - I am listening to it right now. This song has gotten me through a lot in my life.

Don't You Cry Tonight - GnR - Again, a rough period in my life, and this song was a friend.

O Holy Night

Wind Beneath My Wings - reminds me of dad

On Eagle's Wings

Amazing Grace

God Bless America

Star Spangled Banner

In the Arms of The Angels - it was the song that was on the radio when dad passed away in my mom's arms.

Crossroads - Bone Thugs and Harmony. Played at a childhood friend's funeral a week after HS graduation. Such an emotional time for me.

Butterfly Kisses - I never got to dance with my daddy at my wedding.

The Dance - G. Brooks.

There are a million more, but I am already crying. Better stop.

When She Loved Me, from Toy Story 2 and Kathy Mattea's Where've You Been, get me every time!!! God Bless the USA gets me on occasion as well.

Friends by Michael W. Smith

Butterfly Kisses

O Holy Night

Right Here Waiting by Richard Marx

Here & Now by Luther Vandross

to name a few! :teeth:

"What a Wonderful World" sung by Louis Armstrong

Definitely "To Where you Are" by Josh Groban. I saw a montage about the Columbia astronauts to this song, and I can't imagine any song being more perfect for that. Definitely a tear-jerker.

On Eagles Wings- played at both my grandmothers funeral as duet by 2 of my cousins and also recently at my grandfather's funeral.

anytime I am at WDW and listening to the songs being played during the fireworks and illuminations

The song that was played during the montage for 9/11-Only Time by Enya

Angels Among Us - Alabama

Go Rest High on That Mountain - Vince Gill

I Knew I Loved You Before I Met You - Sound Garden
After I had my dd (she was my 1st) I would hold her and rock
her to this song and just cry. Dh made me a slid show/movie on
the computer and put it to this song. I still cry when I hear it
especially if she is right infront of me. This song kills me.

"Unanswered Prayers" by Garth Brooks

When my daughter was 5 we sent her to a private Kindergarten at the Christian School. One day my daughter asked me why God wouldn't answer her prayers, I said "What". She said the teachers told her that if you pray and ask God for something He will do it. She said she'd been praying to be able to walk (she has Cerebral Palsy) and couldn't understand why God hadn't answered her. Around the same time we became big Garth Brooks fans and found this song on his album No Fences the chorus hit a chord with us.

"Sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers

Remember when you're talkin' to to the man upstairs

That just because He doesn't answer doesn't mean He don't care

Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers"

We explained to Jackie that God had plans for her and that part of His plans involved her Cerebral Palsy, that she was the first handicapped child at her new school and she was there to be an example and open the hearts of the other children and teachers. Then we went to the school and ripped some heads off ;) Actually, we asked them to kindly tune it down a little and tell the children that sometimes God knows what is best for you and doesn't always answer your prayers the way you want.

I still cry when I hear that song.

"The Dance" by Garth Brooks.

Garth Brooks The Dance Lyrics

Looking back on the memory of
The dance we shared 'neath the stars alone
For a moment all the world was right
How could I have known that you'd ever say goodbye

And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance

Holding you I held everything
For a moment wasn't I a king
But if I'd only known how the king would fall
Hey who's to say you know I might have chanced it all

And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance

Yes my life is better left to chance
I could have missed the pain but I'd of had to miss the dance

America the beautiful, and proud to be an American do it for me.

The song that makes me cry is called Anthem. It's from a musical called Chess, and especially after 9/11, it affects me. Since it's a pretty obscure song, I figured I'd type out the lyrics.

Anthem

No man, no madness;
Though their sad power my prevail
Can posess, conquer my country's heart
They rise to fail.

She is eternal.
Long before nation's lines were drawn
Where no flags flew,
Where no armies stood,
My land was born.

And you ask me why I love her
Through war, death, and despair?
She is the constant;
We who don't care.

And you wonder will I leave her;
But how?
I cross over borders,
But I'm still there now.

How can I leave her?
Where would I start?
Let man's petty nation's
Tear themselves apart;
My land's only borders
Lie around my heart.

Anything by Celine Dion. It's so awful it hurts. Brings me to tears every time.

There are a few church hymns that bring tears to my eyes. "The Old Rugged Cross", "Precious Lord, Take My Hand", "Amazing Grace", and especially "Are Ye Able?" leave me reaching for a kleenex. Each song has a special meaning to me and has a profound effect on me whenever I hear them or have the opportunity to sing them.

If you ever have the time and are so inclined, you should read about Thomas Dorsey and how he came to write "Precious Lord, Take My Hand". This song came out of amazing tragedy in this man's life and makes it even more special when I hear it.

Excuse me while I grab a tissue.
