Ok, I need some more ideas on what snacks to bring for the kids. So, let's get a thread going to help give each other ideas!
I'll start:

Ritz Cracker (single serving size)

Peperidge Farm Cookies (single serving size)

Dole Fruit (single serving size and in it's own juice)

Hostess Muffins - Blueberry and Chocolate Chip

Capri Suns and Minute Maid Juice boxes

Chips (pringles or cool ranch doritos Single serving sizes)

We have soon to be 2 and 4 y/o's, and we always bring:

Bibs for those who need them, wooden salad bowls (truly unbreakable), and spoons/forks if child won't use plastic ones from WDW

individual canned fruits packed in juice

individual applesauce containers

Pooh juice boxes (they are 100% juice, no sugar or other ingredients, and gets us in the mood...)

small boxes of raisins

individual serving sizes of plain oatmeal/cream of wheat (you can make these with the bowls, spoons, and hot water that are provided for free at the babycare centers, where they also have high-chairs available)

fruit snacks (like gummies, but come in individual pkgs. given only as a bribe to get a child to sit quietly in stroller, only once they are seated, do I give it to them, and it works like a charm, they usually nap after sitting quietly for a few minutes, no melt-down. I ONLY give them once a day on vacation, and almost never at home, so they are a VERY SPECIAL treat)

Little Debbie Brownies (they don't melt!)

can of pringles (they won't break!)

Snack Pack Puddings

that's it for now!

we tend to bring juice, chex mix (I love this and you can't get it in the UK, so it's a big treat!) and fruit into the parks.

But, we have found that if you buy the kids a big chocolate bar first thing in the park, they do not bother you for anything until dinner. There is something about chocolate that just takes them through the day.

We take fruit, ritz bitz crackers (plain and the peanut butter sandwiches), goldfish crackers, and string cheese. Our 2 yo won't drink juice so we also take plenty of water for him.

We try to take things that don't require utensils. Here are just some off the top of my head:

tubes of peanut butter
tubes of applesauce
tubes of pudding (non-perishible)
individual packages of pretzels w/ cheese dip
fruit snacks and/or rollups
cheese sandwich crackers
teddy graham crackers
craisins

I try to avoid anything with chocolate (i.e. oreos) because DD usually ends up wearing it.

With an 11 month old a very important snack is Cheerios! My 5 yo has started eating them too. I'll also be packing mini ritz crackers, pretzel sticks, granola bars, peanuts for DH and DS, fruit tubs, gogurts which I'll freeze the night before.

We are bringing:

juice boxes
Mickey magic cookies (like Oreos, but not chocolate, with Disney stuff :)
gummi fruit snacks
trail mix (nuts, dried fruit, etc - our kids are old enough for nuts)
individual servings of peanut butter
individually wrapped packs of graham crackers
goldfish
milk and cereal bars
teddy grahams
cheese and crackers

We also plan to purchase some special Disney snacks in the parks, such as Mickey ice cream bars, Turkey legs, Kaki gori, Beaver tails, a cookie from the Main Street Bakery, and something from the bakery in France. Ooh, and a Dole Whip!

Laurie :)

Yes, you can :) Some people have even reported taking sandwiches and such, but we will just take snacks so the kids can eat if they are hungry. Also, I'm not real thrilled about paying $2.50 for bottled water, so I will bring my own :) I think the only problem is when people bring their own food and then help themselves to the air conditioned seating and the condiment bars at counter service places. I would never do anything like that (and I'm sure you wouldn't either!)

Also, you can get a cup of ice water for free from counter service places, so I plan on doing that as well :) The only thing I'm really bringing to save money is the water. The kiddie snacks you can't get in the parks. I do plan on letting them have special treats of expensive Mickey food ;) but if we're in line and they suddenly become ravenous (you know how kids are fine one minute, then starving the next) I want to be able to hand them something simple and make them happy (as well as those around us :))

Laurie :)

Im bring :

those new ritz crackers there great
fruit snacks ( lots )
instant breakfast mix ( great for morning's in room)
can cheese ( for room)
those individual boxes of cereal
gronala bars
homemade trail mix in individual bags one for each day.
also kool-aide
at the grocery stop ill get
fresh cheese
milk, yogurt, oj sugar, ( for kool-aid )

I almost forgot! My most important item is the Brita Bottle to filter the gross central FL water! I don't mind drinking warm water as long as it doesn't have that yucky taste.

Wow. I thought I was the only one that had a 2yo that didn't like juice!

Regardless of what you bring, I suggest you get your kids their own fanny packs. I would put the snacks in DD's (3 1/2 at the time) without her looking. She wasn't allowed to open it until we were in the park. She loved the surprise and then loved being in control of snacks. When she was hungry, she would eat. She was also good about sharing with DS (1 1/2). Next trip they each get their own.

Someone here suggested bringing those along for the kids. Not my favorite, but my DS, who is the world's most fussy eater, suddently thinks the ham & cheese ones are the greatest thing since PB&J.

And where did you find the Brita filter bottle? I've looked all over around here - nothing. I've seen them online, but I don't have time to get it here before we leave.

I'm also in Austin - I've seen them at my Albertsons... Not sure if you are north or south though...

Duchie,
If you don't have time to go crazy looking up by you, just stop at a Publix grocery store while you're here. I paid $6.99 or $7.99 for mine at Publix

has anyone ever taken Bananas on an airplane? My friend and I were dicussing snacks and she mentioned them. I had never thought you could take fruit on an airplane (I guess you would carry it on?) Please let me know if you have ever done this.

I've always seen the Brita H2O bottles at Target - they are in the housewares department along with the big Brita Filters.
