My DD (10) wants to get her 10 yo "boyfriend" a present this year. She wanted to get him a big stuffed animal, but I didn't think that would go over well with him.I suggested a small stuffed animal and something else. So, what's small, inexpensive, but a big hit with 10 yo's this year?

My DH thought maybe a gift bag with assorted candies, ie candy canes (other than usual candy cane flavors), chocolate bars, etc.

Her "sources" tell her that he is getting her a Barbie doll.

omg...that's just too cute...

I agree with your DH...candy. Maybe a mini stocking filled with some candies and a $5 gift card to McD's or something?

way to a man's heart...through his stomach, right?

The kids seem to like the hand held "20Q" game. I think it's $9.99.

One year I found a huge t-shirt shop and got DD's male friend a cool baseball t-shirt for about $4. They had t-shirts for about every interest you could think of.

Too cute!!

Michael's has these little art sets on sale. I bought one for my DS11's Secret Friend at school. They were less than $4 for the smallest one (3 different sizes I think) and included watercolors, colored pencils, markers, crayons.

My DS thought it was pretty cool to give to his friend.

How about a game that they can play together like Yahtzee and Connect Four. Toys R Us has some games on sale this week. Also, boys and girls like those magnetix things. A small set is $9.99 at Toys R Us. I don't know how much they cost, but those plug in video games are nice. Another thought are those hand held video games.

I would go along with a baseball cap. Then when your daughter sees him wearing it, she will have a smile on her face.
This is such a cute gesture for 10 year olds.

a lego bionicle, other small lego set, maybe star wars, or magnetix. Those are all things my 10yo nephew loves.

Does he like YuGiOh cards? I've seen them at Kmart, etc.

I have to agree with the 20Q game. It is on the top of the list of my sisters DS9. My DS (high school) also raved about it, so I think, at least around here, it is a type of "cult" thing that kids of all ages are having fun with. However, the one we purchased for DN was 19.99. But I think there are two versions.

Another vote for the 20Q game (I overheard somebody in The Discovery Store say they had them for 9.99 at Walgreens, Discovery wanted 14.99).

The small Lego sets are also a great idea. It's what all the boys in the daycare are getting.

There are also those "plug-n-play" video games. Basicly a joystick with a couple games prorammed into the memory.
