What sized DVC accommodations do you use the most?

I don't know if this one has been done before, but I'm curious as to what size accomodations DVCers use most often.....studio, 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom, GV.


Since I'm technically challenged, anyone care to post a poll asking this question?

For the two of us, we almost always get a 1BR. If we have guests with us, we'll get a 2BR.

Up until this past year we have used a 1 BR. Now that DD #3 is no longer a baby we will be using 2 BR's from now on.......

I had to vote for 1 BR only because that is what we have used most...........

I voted 1 bdrm. There are only 3 of us including DD who is 4 right now. Until she gets a little older I don't see any reason to rent larger villas unless we bring company. I like having her close to us especially at her age. We started with a studio but I don't like having anyone sleep in the living room. I rent a villa w/ a living room so that people can nap while other people are watching tv, reading etc. Feels more like home w/ a seperate bedroom.

If it is just the 2 of us we get the 1BR. With 4 people we get the 2BR.We haven't tried the studio yet.

Two trips....two stays in 1BRs, so that's what I voted.


But we're moving to a 2R on the next trip.....and there's probably no going back to a 1BR after that!

We used the GV 3 times at OKW and had 2 GV's at HH in summer of 2001. And we are booking the Beach Cottage(VB) for summer of 2004. It helps when 4 other members of my family our DVC members also.

I used to stay in studios--but once I stayed in a one bedroom, there was no turning back! How could I go back after a one bedroom in building 23 at OKW? Everything about it was just lovely!!

Well I voted 2-bedroom, but that is when we have our 2 DDs with us. Now that they are college age that isn't as often as it use to be. So we have been getting 1-bedrooms for the two of us more often now. I guess right now now it is about 50-50 between 1 and 2 bedrooms. We did rent a GV this past May for the 4 of us and my sister and BIL. But that was the first time we have ever rented a GV.

We usually alternate stays (we average 2x a year) between a 1 bdrm & a studio, so no category actually fits us. (We don't change or check-out for weekends). And what about those folks that stay in a 1 brdm, then do switch to a studio for weekends? The poll won't fit them either.

I figured some people would be divided that's why I phrased "most often". I guess if you take 2 trips with equal amount of time each year and stay in different accomodations, then no the poll won't fit you. I think if you're just moving over to a studio from a one bedroom for 2 nights to save points, then you would probably vote 1 bedroom, since you're in a 1 bedroom for 5 nights.

I realize the poll isn't perfect, just thought it would give a general idea.

A good part of my WDW trips is spent solo, so I get a studio. (DH actually prefers a studio to a 1-bedrm.) If I'm having "company", I'll get either a 1 or 2 bedrm. I voted studio, as that's where I'm usually found!

Hi,
We usually get a 2 bedroom because we have family with us.
Once, before joining our family at OKW, DH and I used a studio at BWV for 2 nights and we were quite satisfied. Even though I own at OKW, the studios there are more like hotel rooms. For two people, the BWV studio is more comfortable with the sofa.

If DH and I were to stay for a longer period of time, we would get a 1 BR rather than a studio, no matter where we would stay.

Rich, I can understand that you need a GV because of the tiny rooms at OKW. If you were to stay at BWV, the rooms are large enough that a GV is not needed.

If it is DH and I, we usually get a 1BR. Once we got a studio when we went down there on a spur-of-the-moment thing(literally planned and left within 2 weeks) and were only staying 3 nights. I must admit, we have been spoiled by the 1BR, with the full kitchen, bigger balcony, washer/dryer. If we travel with another couple, we do a 2BR.
