These days a Civic is considered a mid-size. It will barely hold 4 people and luggage. If you have 2 bags per person (4 people) you will have a problem.
When I was in Denver a few years ago for a business trip, I went to pick up my mid size car rental. The car rental place gave me a VW Beetle. They had that classified as a midsize. I switched to a Toyota corolla instead. Looked a little bigger.
I agree with those who say Midsize -- as defined by rental car companies.
The next size up -- cars like the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry -- are classified as Fullsize, despite being substantially smaller than the traditional American fullsize cars of decades fast.
Honda products are rare in rental car fleets. They're not entirely absent, but -- unlike Ford, GM, and Toyota -- the American Honda Motor Co. doesn't offer heavily discounted fleet pricing deals to rental car companies.
