Forgive me I love dog threads and hearing about people's pets.

One of my dogs is petrified of a teddy bear - my two boys have had dozens of stuffed animals which have never registered on my dog's radar...except this one particular black bear. It's a really cute bear, not particularly lifelike or anything but it makes my dog paranoid and freaks him out. LOL.

My other dog has no fears whatsoever (he's one of those tiny 11 pound tough guys).

My cat is petrified of plastic bags (and I thought most cats liked the rusting sounds).

How about your pets?

My brother's dog is afraid of the hot air register that blows the hot air from the floor vent into the room.

They are scared when DH is yelling at the basketball games on tv!! Don't blame them though....he is a little loud when watching the Mavericks!!

Our cat is terrified of thunder. She's not fond of rain either. Poor thing just slinks off to the basement whenever there's a storm.

Charlie isn't afraid of anything, which makes him an 'at risk' kitty. Lily, on the other hand, is afraid of the UPS truck (can hear it from a great distance), coffee grinders, the ironing board opening, plastic bags crinkling (Charlie climbs inside and purrs) the vaccum cleaner (she disappears when you plug it in), and most of all she is afraid of company. Whenever anyone comes over she scoots upstairs, will stay there for hours if that's how long they're here. She hides under a bed.
Too funny about the teddy bear, Skywalker. :rotfl:

Our beagle is afraid of gas grills (on or off....just their existence scares the crap out of her. Oddly enough, she will stick her nose right into a campfire) :confused3 :confused3

She's also scared of feathers.

Our dachshund isn't afraid of a single thing. That kid is tough!

My dog likes the ocean, but hates the waves. So she'll run in and run out incessantly. An inlet works best for her if she's going to go in the water, LOL.

We had a cat once who was afraid of ants. She would see one crawling, get close to see what it was, and then take off running:rotfl2:

My son's dog is afraid of rolled up newspapers...wonder why?? :confused3 ;)
He also thinks the vacuum cleaner is a dog-murdering machine!

Our dog is afraid of kites. Someone has been flying a kite in our neighborhood lately and she barks herself hoarse when they are doing that. It must make a sound she can hear :confused3 . She is also afraid of the dark and won't go outside at night unless we are there :confused3 .

My dog is only afraid of an empty food bowl...;)

My parents' dog is deathly afraid of balloons. Any kind, any place...makes birthday parties particularly challenging for her. She's also afraid of umbrellas, thunder, and...well, pretty much everything. LOL!

My cat's fears are thunder and the window cleaner :rotfl:

The window cleaner will send him into a quivering wreck by the sofa for hours.

He's also afraid of plastic bags.

Brian the Brainless,our 70lb. Lab is afraid of the Grandpuppy-a 1 1/2lb Pomerainian :rotfl2:
Also just found out he's afraid of Pick Up trucks. I understand this though-his previous owners threw him out of one when he was 7 months old. :sad1: Thankfully there was an angel behind the truck and was able to avoid hitting him and found a no kill shelter where we found him.:)

My African grey is afraid of towels.

My Macaw is afriad of water and storms. He hates the vacuum and will attack it constantly if he sees it.

The cats are afriad of the birds.

Freddy is afraid of our butcher rack. Sometimes pans or lids fall from the shelves. He chooses to be nowhere near the rack whne someone goes to grab a pan.

Q is not afraid of much. Car accidents, since she has been in two. When she hears squealing tires on the tv she will look around nervously, it will even wake her up from sleeping.

But both dogs freak out at our talking smoke detector in the basement. First it just beeps when the battery is low. But if we do not change the battery, after a few days it will start talking, reminding us to change the battery. They both come an hide under our legs, shaking... Poor babies...

My dog is afraid of rubber bands. And no, I don't shoot her with them. She's afraid of the twang noise they make when you strum them.

She's also afraid of thunder and the vacuum. She's losing her hearing, so thunder doesn't bother her quite as much as it used to.

Murphy (beagle) is afraid of boxes. Any type of box, even cereal boxes. It probably doesn't help that Lilly (our cat) loves boxes and will constantly hide in them and jump out to attack him. But his fear of boxes predates her, so she is just adding to the problem.

Lilly really isn't afraid of anything except baths.

Cat is afraid of vaccuum cleaners. Dog is only afraid of Thunder.
