What side of park to start on?

Depends on what I want to do first thing. But I did hear somewhere (I think on KTTK tour) that most people go right, so to avoid crowds, go left.

As PP noted, it's really about what our goals are for the day. In MK, we like to start our day in Adventureland, so we go left, head into Frontierland do BTMRR and Splash and then work our way around to Tomorrowland. My DS is 9, however, so we skip attractions like Winnie the Pooh, Dumbo, etc.

In EP, it's really dependent on our FP+ and we typically go to EP more than two days, so we'll either start at TT or Soarin' depending on our FP+, then work our way to the other side then head to WS, usually starting in Mexico.

In HS, we typically go to the left, but we don't do RnRC or ToT (as of yet, DS will probably do it next trip)

In AK, we start in DinoLand USA (to get in as many Primeval Whirl rides as possible!) and then work our way to Africa.

We go frequently, so our order may not be similar to those trying to hit bigger, more popular rides, first.

At MK I always start on the right. We go to Buzz Lightyear and ride it 5 times in row. Now that everyone rushes over to the Mine Train there are about 5 other people that go to Tomorrowland.

At Epcot I also go right, over to Soarin first.

HS is more of a middle. Toy Story is where you have to go if you want more than one chance of riding that.

AK I go right over to Everest.

We did 3 MK days, and did: Day 1, Frontier/Adventure Lands, Day 2: Tomorrow & Fantasy Lands, Day 3: more focused on character M&G and repeat rides on our favorites.

I have read that most people automatically go right into Tomorrowland first, so I think if you did rope drop, itd make sense to go opposite (or just head into Fantasyland), but Frontierland/Adventureland are great options to start because of BTMR/Splash/POTC, unless you wanted to just get Mine Train/PPF out of the way.

For me at MK it is counter-clockwise unless I want to rope drop Peter Pan, but then I will go back and start at Adventureland right after.

At Epcot, I hit Soarin' first usually, and can bounce around Future World, but for World Showcase it is also counter-clockwise from Mexico.

For DHS It is straight to Toy Story, then usually the West side of the park, then Sunset.

AK starts at the Safari (or a PPO Tusker House), then works around Asia to Dinoland. Avatar may change that.

I admittedly have a poor touring strategy as my DD isn't into thrill rides so we likely prioritize differently than most!

MK - always start with Adventureland since it is our favorite
Epcot - always starts Figment and then the Land pavilion.
AK - starts with the Safari
DHS - no routine here

We typically head into Adventureland first and then go counterclockwise through MK, like previous posters have mentioned. Some days though, we'll start in Tomorrowland... it all depends on what we want to get done and what our scheduled FP+ are. When we're in EP, we tend to start on the right as my daughter loves Figment, Nemo, LwtL, and Soarin' so I try to knock those out during the somewhat quiet morning hours and schedule our Tier 1 FP+ for TT later in the morning/early afternoon.

We go all over. No rhyme or reason. It just depends on our mood.
this is what I do but I am at the world at lest once a month some times more. So if I can not ride something or do something there will always ( or for the time being) be a next trip and normally it is with in 30 days.

if you are asking to avoid the crowds ( this is my option )

at the MK

most people go to fantasy land

EPCOT

most people go to the 3 big ride ( TT FEA and soaring)

HS

TSMM, RNR, TT and jet I sign up thing

AK

not really sure I not at this park too much will only do 3 maybe 4 things here and I am normally out with in an hour of getting there.

In April my wife and I took our three kids (1, 3, and 6 at the time) for the first time and I was all set to have an orderly progression through the Magic Kingdom on Day 1. We got there, took some pictures, kids wanted to walk through the castle and we ended up using prime early morning time to ride the Carousel twice because it's the first thing they saw.

So basically I go wherever my kids pull me.......

Another one that just goes wherever the whim takes me. We rarely book FPs in advance, we tend to book them while standing in line so we have no pattern. I probably go left more often than not at MK just because it seems easier. We enter through the IG at Epcot and just go whichever way has whatever food we are in the mood for. HS we just kind of wander around, we love ToT so more often than not we'll turn right first but it's not habit. We do go to Safari more often than not when going into AK so whatever direction that is (plus I love to grab a muffin at that little QS hidey hole right before safari).

Alone:

MK--Rope drop, directly to Tomorrowland for Space Mountain, then counter-clockwise around the park. (My first day at MK is always alone.)

With my partner:

Epcot--Front of the park for Spaceship Earth, then The Land Pavilion for Soarin' and Living with the Land, and that's all we do anymore in Future World so afterwards we head straight to World Showcase to wander around the lagoon in whichever direction our ADR is. (Our first day at Epcot is never a rope drop.)

AK--Rope drop to see the birds, then directly to Asia for Expedition Everest. The rest of the day depends on our FPs and whether my partner leaves early for the pool. (I have greater AK stamina than he does.)

DHS--No set plan. Our first day here is never a rope drop, and we plan our attack around our ADR.
