Since I never been to WDW I need help figuring out which places are the best to go to with my husband and twins six year old boys. Any tips and advise is great on dinner show or other favorites, I don't even know where to begin. Our ressies are still a long while away but I want to start think about PS is I need to.

your boys woudl love the hoop-de-doo at fort wilderness! these reservations can be made now. also, don't forget a characater meal. we like donald's breakfastasarous in AK,but there are many to choose. the antics at whispering canyon cafe at wilderness lodge are fun. again, your boys would have a great time here. we prefer breakfast to the other meals served there. have you checked the menus over at deb's site: www.wdwig.com ths is a good general info site. feel free to IM me if you have any questions.:p

My kids always enjoy eating at 50s Prime Time or SciFi in MGM. Your boys may enjoy sitting in the "cars" watching clips of movies. The burgers are pretty good, and the shakes are wonderful!

We've also enjoyed Chef Mickeys at the Contemporary, as well as Liberty Tree Tavern.

Enjoy your stay!!! Be sure to visit the All Star Movies (if you're not staying there!) The kids will love playing in Andy's room, and by the 101 Dalmations!!

I really enjoy the Cape May Buffet for breakfast. It has Minnie, Goofy, Chip & Dale in beachwear. The buffet is very good with a great selection, especially fresh fruit. YUM!

Your sons might enjoy Sci-Fi Drive In. They may or may not "get" the movies -- they are all clips from the 50's and 60's, but eating in the car is great fun. I'm not a huge fan of the food because it seems to vary in quality (but NOT quantity) at times.

50's Prime Time Cafe is fun, but I think only baby-boomers get the humor here. It's more comfort food, big portions. I don't know if your twins would like it.

Rainforest Cafe (either AK or downtown Disney) is a good place. Exciting atmosphere and fun food, too.

Check out the dining page here and at www.wdwig.com

Yes yes yes call today and book yourself a table for the hoop dee doo review! you can book up to 2 years in advance and the earlier you book, the better the table.

Have a late breakfast at spoodles or cape may cafe on an epcot day (then walk over and do the WS at 11am). Then have a late late lunch at coral reef. arrive early for your ps and ask to wait for a tank side table.

If youre going to try for an outside table at rose and crown for illuminations, do it on whichever day of your trip that you can get a 7:30 ps. Ask them to note an illuminations table in the notes part of your ps. the operator may think your nuts, but the resturaunt will get it.

Liberty tree tavern at the MK is a must do for dinner. One of our favorites.

Breakfast at the whispering canyon at the WL is amazing. we like it better than chef mickeys.

we like 50s cafe and sci fi at mgm. and pizza planet is a fun counter service place.

Pecos bills counter service in MK has the best burgers in the world!

Anyone have the number for the Hoop-De-Doo? Do they expect full payment at the time of reservations?

The number to call is 407-WDW-DINE for Hoop Dee Doo (and all other) dinner reservations. We made our reservations 8 months in advance and I'm hoping for a great table- you don't have to pay when making the PS, but you do have to give your credit card #. Also, I suggest the Pirate Cruise at the Grand Floridian. I also booked that for my 5 year old son after reading good things about it. I think you have to wait 120 days out to book that, but it includes a cruise around the Seven SeasLagoon, pirate stories, hunting for treasure, and a PBJ lunch. At the end they get a bag of loot. I think your boys might get a real kick out of that- it's $25. Have fun planning!! :bounce:

Here are some favorites of ours...

Primetime 50's Cafe--- we have a blast here, and the food is really good. Try to go for a late lunch... it should last you for the rest of the day!

Cape May Cafe Clam Bake--- nice atmosphere, all you can eat buffet... something for everyone!

Garden Grille--- a quieter alternative for a Mickey character meal. DD loves the revolving dining room, the food and the service are also good.

If you are staying at either of the Port Orleans resorts, have dinner at Sassagoulas Food Court... the pizzas are great, and the kids love watching the movies on the big screen TV while they eat. This was also a big hit with all of us, and one of our least expensive meals.

DD also likes eating lunch at San Angel Inn. She thinks it is pretty cool, to sit under the stars and watch the boats go by when it is actually the middle of the day. We like the food here, too!

DD isn't a picky eater by any stretch of the imagination, so we can usually take her to any of the restaurants, and she will like them.

Another fun resturaunt and my personal favorite is O'hana at the Polynesian resort.

Both the character breakfast there and dinner are great fun for the kids and the food is wonderful.

The character breakfast is with Mickey,Goofy,Chip & Dale and served family style - all you can eat. Eggs,Mickey waffels, breakfast potatoes, bacon, sausage - yum. And they have a parade where they bring up the kids to be in it with the characters.

Dinner is all you can eat Shirmp, steak, chicken, marinated pork on skeweres that they bring to your table cooked on an open fire in the resturaunt and they also give you plenty of appetisers before that too! And of course other accompanyments of Rice, salad, etc.
And then after you can't stand it anymore there's desert! They have the Big Kahuna there at dinner singing and games for the kids - hoola-hooping,coco-nut races, simon says - my ds has a blast!

And if you time it right, you can go out onto the beach after dinner and watch the fireworks over the magic Kingdom all right there at the resort. It really makes for a fun night all the way around!

Have a wonderful trip!!

The only dining I'd say you must do with the boys is a character meal. I don't think you can go wrong with any character meal. I'd select the meal based on what characters the kids want to see the most. We love the Garden Grill and wouldn't miss out on that one. We also have to see Pooh characters, so we've done CP and have PS for Tony's. We prefer meals brought to our table (family style or preplated) over buffets, because with small children it's much more relaxing. We also prefer lunch or late b-fast, so we can take advantage of lighter crowds in the morning and have plenty of time to walk off feeling full. B-fast is the one meal that is so simple to do in your room which is a big $ saver.

I think that Hoop Dee Doo would be the best dinner show. Humor for all ages and homestyle food.

My recommendation for a character meal would be Garden Grill at Epcot. Farmer Mickey, Chip and Dale. Very fun! The meal is served family style, and is a low-key character meal. The last time I was there, the characters spent a lot of time with us - and we were a party of all adults!!!!!
