What should we do?

What do you guys think would be better? We have the 1st week of May booked but just noticed Dapper Day and Bats Day on the first day for us in the parks. We're not huge crowd people. Will it thin out after that day a bit? Or be busy all week? If I had to move it I could only move it to the week of April 10th. Which I see there are a couple spring breaks. Suggestions?

Just pick the time that works best for you. It seems like it's always busy nowadays at DL. We liked going to DCA and Knotts since they were less crowded.

The kicker is the new "no costumes" rule and whether or not Disney will apply that to period dress. And certainly would apply to the "costumes" of Bats Day participants.

If you don't like crowds I would recommend staying away from Spring Break times.

I second staying away from Spring Break times and going during Dapper Days. The attire is awesome and the good manners are right up there too. During Spring Break, we have ran into more people breaking from everything; school, good manners, acceptable attire, G rated language....

I believe there is a Marathon right after Dapper Days so don't count on crowds really thinning out. I looked for DD rates after the Dapper Day Sunday and there was no availablity.

Ya when I booked our stay at bwppi I had to do Sunday to checkout on Thursday as there were no rooms available because of the tinker bell marathon starting that day. So from what you guys are saying I should just stick with my dates and not move them as the end of spring break will be busier?

There are no slow days at the parks anymore, but I can tell you from experience that there is bad, and then there's Dapper Days bad. If it isn't a huge hassle, and the alternatives do not appear to be any worse, you might try switching dates.

Thank you so much! So yeah, without knowing if there is anything happening around april 10th, I'd choose that week. But if there is something happening then, it won't be as bad as dapper day. If you didn't see our trip report from the last one, they closed the park for a while it was so crowded. Sara couldn't even park her car.

And that's my nightmare. I know there's a couple districts on break but I'm sure nothing like Dapper Day

I'm not sure what you should do, but I can say that I was in the parks this past year around April 16-19 and the crowds were really not too terrible. In fact it was downright pleasant in the mornings, with crowds of course picking up in the afternoon, but nowhere near as much as when we had gone around Christmas the December before.

If I were you I would probably go in April.
