My plane lands at 3:00 pm. The time we get to the hotel and feed the kids I feel like it's late but I don't want to waste the evening. What should I do or what parks to go? MK closes at 7:00 pm that day so it's not worth to go.. is it???

We are staying at the Contemporary. And I have 2 small kids so I don't want to travel far. What can we do? Any suggestions? Thanks!

At best you would arrive at the the MK 5 - 5:30....so probably not worth the trip over. As far as what to do....you can always hang around the resort....the Contemporary has a nice pool area with a slide and a splash area. Take a trip on the Monorail to see some of the other resorts (Poly, GF)....

We usually go to Downtown Disney when we arrive to relax, get a bite to eat and buy our Christmas Ornament.

Is the MNSSHP that night? That's what we are doing on arrival day! Or you could do some shopping at DTD. Or for fun Disney Quest arcades.

No, MNSSHP is not on that night. How far is DTD from the Contemporary? What is there to do there with a 2 yr old and 7 month old? Thanks!!

Maybe the children (& you) would enjoy dinner at Chef Mickeys? You can all get into the Disney spirit with some great character interaction, good food and lots of fun!!

It's probably impossible to get reservations since we are leaving in a couple of days. I would love this though!

Our flight arrives similar time and we are taking the ME to our resort to get checked in and then hitting DTD :) But we are going to have been up since 4 am that morning, traveling all day and want to be at RD the next morning. So, we are going to be looking for an early bedtime :goodvibes

Sorry this is a dumb question but what's RD?

This is what we are doing. Our flight lands at 4ish and we are going to check in and then go to DTD and eat and look around.

We usually do DTD but this year we are hitting up MNSSHP on arrival day. Staying at Contemporary also.
Agree with others tho since will be round 6pm maybe check out the pool or ride Monorail to other 2 resorts and check them out.
Good luck

Someone mentioned Chef Mickeys to eat at that night. Sounds fun.
However, I looked & doesn't look like any times available.

Ohana at the Poly has 9:45 p.m. on Sept 6th available for a party of 4. That's a really fun place to eat & is nearby.
[ the 5th & 7th has late openings too]
Also, if you show up abit early you might get seated earlier ...we did when we had a late reservation last year.

Our plane lands at 10am. I figure we will be at POR around noon. We are going to...

Check in. Deal with suitcases if our room isn't ready. Go to DTD and pick up our Photopass+ card. Hit up the Lego store (Kids are more excited about this than anything else). Walk around some other shops. Go back to POR and eat dinner (thinking offsite pizza delivered). Go swimming. Settle into our room. Catch the outdoor movie.

We have 8am CRT on Sunday, and we want that to be how we kick off being in the parks. :)

In 2010, my mom told me that her ME driver said if you go to Chef Mickey's without an ADR they WILL seat you. Not sure if this is true but worth a try. you may have a little wait but if you are staying at Contemporary anyway, why not?

You could take a boat over to the Wilderness Lodge. There's a restaurant with silly servers... I don't remember the name off the top of head.

I also like the recommendation of riding the monorail and touring the Poly and/or Grand Floridian. The Poly beach is a good place to see the MK fireworks with perhaps a treat from Poly's CS.

The contemporary does Disney movies every night outdoors...either that or the electric water pageant would be a fun and relaxing way to start your trip!!!!
