I can't believe it - but I am running out a things to plan during our next trip! :rotfl2:

What's the one thing you HAVE to do, that you would recommend to your best friend.

So far I have all of my "priority" things that I wanted to do - and I still have a few holes in the schedule - so give me your best ideas!!!! We are parents with 3 kids - ds9, dd7, dd4, staying at AKL with DxDDP.

Yes, sadly that is the ONLY thing my kids requested....:sad2:

Last year we had a fabulous trip with both sets of grandparents so we added a few "special" things - CRT, HDDR, Fireworks cruise, etc. And after the trip what did my precious middle dd say, "Well we only got to go swimming twice". :headache:

So swimming is on the agenda, but not the waterparks. I don't know, I'm just not into it. And I'm not sure it's worth to add the extra cost into the MYW ticket. :confused3 But while we are staying at AKL we can use kidani pool which is supposed to be water-sprayer-ish. Hopefully that will suffice.

Have you planned for Goofy's? I'm not sure the options on getting there from AKV, but if you can get to OKW, grab the boat to DTD and hit Goofy's Candy Company! We stay at OKW, and that's a great ending to our night!

Hoop-de-Doo Review or Mickey's Backyard BBQ at Wilderness Camp Ground are great fun.

O'Hana's in Polynesia and Whispering Canyon in Wilderness Lodge have a lot of fun things they do with kids during the dinner hours.

We have planned to SEE as many resorts this trip as possible. I have ADR's for 3 resorts. This will help us when we plan our next trip!! I would recommend SEEING all the monorail resorts. Their all deluxes and SO gorgeous. Get off at each one, have a drink, maybe a snack or just look around.

OOOH I almost forgot!! Make yourself a dinner ressie for about 2 hours before wishes at Ohana's. Have a great dinner, then head to the beach at the Poly and watch Wishes over the water! LOVED IT!!

Why is this sad? It's nice to have a little down time and not have every second of each day planned. We love pool time too!:goodvibes

It's because they "spent all that money on a Disney vacation and all the kids wanted to do was hang out at the hotel pool!"

Been there, done that....:rotfl:

Now we take an afternoon break and everyone's happy.

Holes to me are what the vacation is all about. We never schedule anything, we just take it and do it as it comes. We make no ADR's either. We're fine with CS, I know from all our previous trips, 42, our eating habits are very different in Florida, be it the heat, exercise or excitement, we eat less, most often just 2 meals a day. We enjoy pool time alot, we'll do picnics there with food from our grocery stop, some beer and wine and a magazine or good book. We get our park time in but don't live and die there. Some nights we'll head to POFQ to catch the lounge entertainment, boat to DTD, maybe catch a movie and bus back to our resort. I never could understand the go-go-go type of vacations and coming home from vacation and needing a vacation from the vacation is not what our Disney trip is all about. Take the time out, relax, smell the roses and enjoy just being alive.

:thumbsup2
I usually make 1-2 ADR's for character meals or a table service dinner for our avg. trip.
For our 9 nt. trip next month (7 in WDW, 2 at US/IOA) with my SIL & nephew, I made a total of 6 dinner ADRs.
Dh says I'm planning too much. :lmao: I have a hunch half of these will get cancelled. Before I get attacked, I always call in advance to free up our table for others. :goodvibes
We can't stand being tied down to a schedule on vacation. We always buy 10 day non-exp. hoppers w/ water parks (20 days of fun!) so if we want to take a day to chill out by the pool, that's another day saved on our tix for a future trip so there's none of that 'we spent all this $ to go to WDW all they just want to swim in the pool.' Each ticket last 3-4 trips.

That's a great idea! We went to Spirit of Aloha last year - and were less than impressed. Sorry for those that may love it - but my kids were totally bored with the luau show. (snooze-fest as my ds9 recalls it) :rotfl: But maybe Ohana would be more fun for them!

And yes, swimming is definately in the plan! Kids can swim, DH and I can explore the poolside refreshments! :cool2:

Last year was our first trip as a family. I've learned so much from the DIS, so I was just looking for those must-dos or hidden gems that are on everyone's "must-do" list. (Besides LeCellier, etc.) Stuff that was the most fun that maybe doesn't get the most hype??

I am so excited to do this, especially with our extended family, who are going this trip! Also, we are eating at Narcoossees this trip and I want to see the GF so bad. We are not doing water parks this trip nor are we adding park hoppers. We are doing MNSSHP on 10/6 and that should be fun.

I am a park commando-open to close every day but the beach day we have planned. I am going to TRY and factor in some down time this trip, no guarantees, but I am going to try:goodvibes

OK, if you learn nothing else, PLEASE take Pepe's advice! Can I just tell you he was on my "advisor" list for my last trip and we had a BLAST! **HEY PEPE!!!!**:love: We will now forever take Amtrak to Orlando!

(Except for the ADR part, we do that!)
