A friend of mine, who work as a training coordinator for Disney for 7 years, wants to sell some of her 'cast member only' items. She wants me to list them for her on ebay. Most of the items I can probably find a going price for them by doing a search on ebay. One time, in particular, I have no clue what to tell her...she received an award of excellence, which is a foot tall broze "partners" statue! Does anyone here have ANY idea of what something like that would go for? I have to go over her house after lunch today to see what she's got.

Thanks for any help!

Colleen

Hi Colleen! I have no idea what her stuff will sell for, but it sure sounds like fun to go through it all with her! The collectors will determine the value......start it at $9.99 and let 'er rip! I love auctions like that, where the value is unknown....so fun to watch! Good luck, and have fun! (oh, btw, are you getting a commission for selling the stuff for her? ;) )

Collectables sites would likely give you an idea what the price range you could expect to get. Typing "cast member disney collectables" in Google should help you zero in on that info.

I would also just set a reasonable amount like 9.99 or 14.99 or something like that and see where it goes.

It is worth as much as a person is willing to pay for it so if it is a big ticket type item then the price would go up fast. :)

Is the "Partners" statue the same one that sells at the galleries at WDW? It's actually resin, but kind of looks like bronze. (It's much lighter than bronze would be, although it's still pretty heavy.) I think it retails for about $395 in the parks...

I'm not a professional appraiser but I would think that cast members items should fetch a good price...if she isn't that attached and just wants the cash then I would go with the 9.99 BUT, if she really wants to get what they are worth I would definately research this.

As long as it's listed well in ebay (category etc) it should get a good price. Just don't use buy-it-now.

Yes, she did offer a commision of 10 - 15%. I didn't know if that was fair...I've never done this before! :bounce:

I'll do research trying a collectibles board. She did say that the statue in the park LOOKS like hers, but hers if definitely bronze! Sometimes, I'll ask her what in God's name possessed her to leave a job like that to come and live in Pa!! She would tell me stories of driving all around the property, taking new employees to lunch on site or showing them where they would be working....:p Can you just imagine driving into work, passing that wonderful WDW sign, seeing the monorail pass overhead, the WDW buses....WHAT WAS SHE THINKING!!!!!:bounce:

If anyone is interested, once I get her stuff up and running, I can list her ebay seller name here and you guys can take a look!!;) I better not take my wallet to her house today!!:jester:
