What should I wear to Napa Rose?

What have you worn when you've gone. It's going to be cold outside, so too cold for dresses and I'm travelling from Austalia so won't be bringing my formal wardrobe with me :rotfl: Jeans and dressy shirt OK?

Jeans are pushing it, but they won't turn you away either.

Definitely no t-shirts; khakis and a sport/dress shirt are OK for men.

I use "business casual" rule at places like this.

I would actually say that jeans are NOT pushing it. This is southern California, after all! Based on my experiences at Napa Rose, nice jeans (well-fitting, no holes, no bleach spots, etc) and a great shirt, plus nice jewelry should be fine. Once you sit down, no one will see your pants anyway...

Yeah, having been to Napa Rose multiple times, jeans are definitely fine. It's Southern California, and it's right outside the theme park. I think it's fine to dress up if you are there for a really special occasion but there really is no need. I've seen people in tacky shirts and cargo shorts, and the staff doesn't really turn their noses up at you either way.

Honestly, you can wear whatever you feel comfortable in. We will be dressing up for our Christmas Eve dinner there, but that is because we want to! In May, we wore jeans and nice shirts, as were weren't expecting to eat there at all. My husband surprised my oldest daughter and I with dinner there our last night (he'd heard great things about it during our three days there) so we didn't have more formal clothes. I felt just fine, although I would have preferred slacks or pants over jeans, to tell the truth.

Have fun!!! It is a great dining experience.

I'd say it really depends on your comfort level and personality. I went a few years ago when I was in my early 20s and we were visibly the youngest people there. Personally, I wear a suit and tie to work every day so I'm accustomed to a certain type of dress. I would not be comfortable wearing either jeans or t-shirt at a restaurant like Napa Rose.

That said, it is a restaurant at a theme park. There are always going to be people in more casual clothes. If you go in jeans + t-shirt you won't be the only one.

I think a part of it also is influenced by the experience you want to have. It's a high quality/high price meal. For me, dressing up enhances my experience. Everyone is different though!

As others have noted this place will not turn you away as long as you are decently dressed. My wife and I ate there a couple of weeks ago and decided to dress a notch or two better than park attire just because its such a nice restaurant. We saw people dressed much nicer, and some dressed in park attire.

Oh, and the meal was absolutely wonderful!!!

oh I do have a imput on this one.... read where jeans and t was fine.... but OMG just sitting in the lobby waiting for the table I felt so incredibly uncomfortable. I felt reassured that since it was in a theme park that a nice jeans- not faded and nice shoes- heck me and DH even had matching customized The Incredibles T- shirts on- we thought it would be ok. I kept telling DH lets please leave,,, this isn't right... but we stayed. I cried thru my entire meal as I was so or we was so underdressed and felt so out of place and DH was antsy over the menu prices. I was truly embarrassed !!!
although, our wonderful server treated us like royalty even though we was not ... was so not dressed for it... and clearly DH was not expecting to fork out $300 for a meal LOL but we made a memory.... a memory for us and prolly the waiter who was thinking " what the heck!" LOL .... if I ever get a chance back at the spot I would def bring a garment bag with a nice dress and suit for DH and sit at the Chefs Table..... now that I know!

Yikes. I'm sorry you had a bad experience, but I think you may have misunderstood. I think jeans are fine, but I wouldn't think an Incredibles T-Shirt would be okay. When I say jeans are fine, I mean jeans and a button-up or polo for a man, and jeans with nice shoes (likely heels if it were me) and a dress shirt (like a silk tank-top or dressy evening top). That said, I know that people go in shorts and t-shirts, and surely they aren't turned away, but if someone told me "nice jeans and a shirt", I wouldn't assume they meant a cotton t-shirt. And if there was any confusion, OP, that's not what we mean ;)

Last time I was there no one was wearing a suit. Everyone had jeans or Dockers. The staff is excellent and treated my son and myself like a King even though I had jeans and a fleece top. No need to worry about clothes. I wouldn't wear a tank top and shorts there but that is just me.
