Cruising on Sunday's 4 Day Wonder!! Can't wait. Just got cruise docs, we have a Deluxe Ocean View, Cat 9 on deck 2. Is there alot of motion on the lower decks? The last time I cruised I was on deck 6 which was fine. What's the "Ocean View"? do we get a port-hole? 'Cause if so I'm LOVING IT!!

Supposedly there is less movement felt in the lower decks. And yes, an "ocean view" cabin means you get a porthole :) The deck 2 ocean view cabins have the larger portholes, as opposed to 2 smaller ones. Enjoy! :)

Dear Sea Spray,

Thanks for the quick reply! I can't wait to see my stateroom! Hey, just noticed that you are "still a Jersey Shore girl at heart" me too!!! I am from Sea Bright!!! I've transplanted to Florida, but you know how it is, once a Jersey Girl ALWAYS a Jersey Girl!!!!

We really like this category and will be leaving soon for our 3rd cruise on deck 2. You get the split bathrooms and the porthole is great! It's large and has a deep ledge (my son liked sitting on it) and is close to the water, so it's fun to look out of. I especially like looking out at night with the lights shining on the waves and we're cruising full speed ahead! We've always been in an aft cabin and rarely have felt any movement - only a few times at night, which was actually nice!

Have a geat time!

:D

pirate: Wow!! Thanks for all the responses!! I'm so excited I could bust!! We will be in cabin 2546 which appears to be mid-ship. I cannot wait to see our stateroom with a porthole!!! Should I dis-regard previous posts that refer to deck 2 as being extremely noisy?? Believe me, I don't care if they dance on our heads I'm just thrilled to be going!! 6 days and counting!

We just cruised on The Wonder and had stateroom 2084. We loved it. The port hole is great. Very little motion and a great location. Our stateroom is listed as a noisy stateroom on one web site but it was not noisy at all. I would book that room again in a heartbeat.

Thanks for all the info everyone!! I can't wait to set sail on Sunday! I'll be sure to write a trip report!

Yes,please do!
We did a lot of changing our minds before we booked- we went from cat 4, to trying to get cat 3, to booking other categories with 2 connecting rooms- finally settled on cat 11 connecting rooms on deck 2 and the TA mentioned it was only $200 more TOTAL for cat 9 rooms... with the big porthole.
Our rooms are 2622/2624. Can't wait- and have a long wait ahead of us. LOL
(those pictures are great!)

Deck 2 midship is fantastic. We are taking our third cruise in June, and already have cabin 2582 reserved. I can't see paying more to be higher up.

The plus side is that you don't need to ride the elevator to get to and from the restraunts (one or two floors away), don't have to ride the elevator to get to leave the boat when at port (and we all know how much a pain the elevators can be when the kids are playing). The lower level means less boat movement. There was no noise on our cruises except for an occassional sound of a pump for about 5 seconds. I never did figure out what that was. It didn't bother me. I was just curious.

The negatives? The only one I can think of is that when I looked out the window at night as the boat was full speed, it immediately made me a bit dizzy :tilt:. Kinda a vertigo thing, when all you can see is the whitecaps going by. But otherwise, it was fantastic.

Enjoy your cruise!
