What Should I Do? Jan. 2004 Trip

Well, I'm getting very impatient with discount codes. I will be staying in WDW from January 10-20 or January 12-22. What Should I Do. Wait for the codes or book and hope for the codes. Has anyone or will anyone be going during the same times. What are you doing to overcome this?

I am a very impatient person so I would probably book now and then change the reservation later to include any codes. I wouldn't be able to rest until those were made

Hi Mike!

I booked last November for this coming January! Talk about anal! Anyway - found out the AAA codes just came out, so I called and had those applied to my ressies! No problem.

If (or should I be positive and say when!) the room codes come out - I'll call and have the best code applied.

It is not a busy time, so I wouldn't worry about not getting a room, but I only want what I want, so I book early to avoid disappointment!

I actually just booked last night, January 16-25th. At full rack rate. I am going to send in a deposit, and keep paying some each month. Then when (see, I too am keeping a positive outlook) when the AP rates come out, I will apply that code to my reservation, and have the room overpaid, so we will have a 'slush fund' so to speak for food and souveniers.

My DH is running the marathon in 2004 & we're staying from 1/9-1/14 (wish it was longer). We're booked already. I'm going to call in a day or so to apply the AAA rates. I'll do the same WHEN the room codes come out in Oct or so.

I'm impatient too which is why I booked now. Where are you interested in staying? We'll be at the WL - I'll keep my eyes peeled for lime green ribbons!

I'm booked already too- at BCV's. BUT I thought you might enjoy this bit of info.

Last year, AP rates for 1/2-2/13 were as follows:

AKL- stand- $109.00
savannah- $154.00

WL- standard $114.00
courtyard- $140.00

BW, BC and YC- standard $169.00
waterview $209.00

I also wrote down what I think were the code discounts and in general they were about 10-20 dollars more then what is listed above. SORRY - don't have moderate or value rates for this time last year.

Anyway- I would go ahead and book at least for the weekend- we were told it would be tough to get a room !

I kinda forgot what last years discount rates were, but just seeing last years make me very excited. We can only hope that those rates happen again.

But, chances are AKL or WL will probably have the cheapest rates b/c for the past other codes they have been. So I think I am going to book a standard room in one of them now and then apply the code when it comes out. Thanks

We're at teh BCV as well. We have a studio booked. It's just DH and I. We arrive on 1/8 and leave on the 13th.

My husband and I will be styaing at the Swan on the 9 & 10 and then moving to the BCV's on the 11th- 15th! My mom, and AUnt nad Uncle are joining us there. Satying ina 2 bedroom. Back to the Swan on the 16th and 17th. We can hardly wait- it'll be our first visit home!

Mike- I thought you might enjoy those rates! GOOD LUCK getting them... if they come back!

There's only one problem with your plan...

What time will you be checking out of the Swan? You probably wo'nt be able to get right into your room at the BCV, it might not be ready until 4:00...where will your DH shower and relax after the race? taking half an hour from the time he finishes until he is ready tos tart walking back to the resort, and another half an hour to get through Epcot and be at the Swan.

Just food for thought.

We won't have that problem this year- noone is running the race- that's next year! But thanks for bringing that up- I'll remeber that for then!
