What should I carry?

Now that we have booked everything I am starting to jot down little things I am going to need to carry while we are at the parks. I have 2 kids and a DH. I was thinking of getting a Vera mini hipster. I tried the regular hipster last night and I thought it may be too big. I think I will just put my money, tickets, lipgloss (of course ;) ) and hand sanitizer. I thought I would bring a backpack or sling bag with me to haul for the kids. I wanted to see if I can find something big enough but not too big. I don't want to end up in traction by the end of the trip! :rotfl: I want enough room for snacks, water bottles, swimsuits, and camera. (I am sure my DH is going to make me lug a huge camera around). Any suggestions would be great!

I would just carry a hipster and put all the little stuff in it, have hubby or whomever carry a camera in a pocket of his shorts....that's what we do..we carry lanyards with all of our stuff in a pocket on it..like a name tag hoder or something....

Dh and I both have a bagalini that we carry. Actually I bought his for christmas for him this year so I wouldn't have to carry mine much. Haha. All I need is lip balm, my pins, a migrane pill (just in case), and anti bacterial wipes and all that is little enough to fit in his bag, but sometimes i'm nice and split the weight so he dosen't have to carry everything. We have a pretty good sized camera so he carries that and also a little flip mino. Why should you have to carry everything? Make dh do some work. :thumbsup2 Plus its annoying to be having people getting into your bag...trust me been there...hate it! :thumbsup2

I usually carry a sling backpack but just bought myself a Baggalini for this trip. I keep water bottles, snacks, hand sanitizer and travel size Lysol spray, ponchos, kids' inhalers, small first-aid kit, sunblock and extra batteries for my camera. I tried letting DD and DS carry a small backpack of their own but, by the third day, we are always condensing everything into one bag so I am just bringing the Baggalini this time!

I have seen on other posts -- people highly recommend backpacks. Keeps your hands free for other things. I am slightly embarrassed to say I know exactly what a "Vera mini-hipster" is, and if you sling it over your shoulder and across your body, that would probably work, too.

I have a baggalini messanger bag that is awesome. It doesn't look big and clunky, but it fits snacks, water, swimsuits, extra clothes, camera and still has room for extras we buy during the day.

Are there different sizes to the Bagallini Messenger Bag? I was looking at Ebags.com and saw that there are a few different options. Princess mom, which one carried all of your stuff? Thanks!

I used a vera bradley mini hipster last July for our trip- it was PERFECT! Keep sunglasses/case, autogrpah book, hand sanitizzer, ID, credit card, room key ect. I had DS carry one of those nylon backpacks with water bottles---which obviouslgot lighter as the day went on--- and because it was so warm, we didn't really need/want snacks that we could carry (a popscile/cold soda ect) I was even able to buy juice boxes at different areas (at MK- between the HM and HOP and at DHS on sunset blvd- towards ToT)....

I washed it mid trip (the hipster) when I did a load of laundry--- as it had been all over the place all week---it washed wonderfully BTW

I used the trip as an excuse to finally get a digital camera and got a good one that would fit in my shorts pocket (or the hipster too).

FInally, I put a backpack in the luggage for me in case the hipster (mini) didn't work out--- never needed it...less was MORE !
