What should I bring from home???

I know this has been asked numerous times but I am now in the packing process. We will be at OKW for 5 nights, ST. Pete's beach 2 nights and VWL for 4 nights.

We plan on stopping at Publix prior to check in. What items should I bring from home instead of buying down there? For instance, salt, spices etc.

We plan on having breakfast and some lunches in the room, mostly dinner out! (I am on vacation!!).

Wht about fitted sheets I hear?

I don't mess with the fitted sheet - it doesn't bother me if the flat sheet comes loose. As far as spices go, I would pack what you think you will use. We only do fast food type foods in the villa so I don't mess with that. I do pack the laundry tabs in a ziplock bag and dryer sheets - can buy here with coupons, sale price, etc. and they travel easily. Enjoy your trip - sounds like fun!

I agree with janiejo. In addition, I would be sure you pack any staple type food stuffs that might be regional. We have found some items we normall buy are not available in Florida. For instance, a particular type of tea I like for breakfast. Don't forget the refillable squeeze water bottles with the filters to take ice water into the parks! It is especially useful this time of year! We usually put them in the freezer at night about 1/2 full and fill them up before we leave for the parks. Sometimes we also fill them with tea, so we have iced tea in the morning! Of course, you will want to remove the filters for that

I like the coffee that are prepackaged so you don't need a filter, it isn't Starbucks but when you need caffeine...

I bring Starbucks,coffee filters,laundry soap, dryer sheets,extra hangers. Anything else I buy. Actually, if I am staying with a few people, I don't even bring laundry soap...I buy a smallish bottle down there, assuming that the folks I am travelling with will use it too.

Thanks all, I forgot about the coffe filters. Just to make sure they are the ones for a Mr. Coffee??? Not the cone shaped ones!! I've already packed some laudry tablets, dryer sheets, salt, sweetners........

Film and plenty of it, check your camara batteries, any medical necessities you might need like antibiotic ointment, solarcaine, sun block, etc., and take your own ponchos just in case of rain.

We actually were very glad we took the advice to take fitted sheets, and will take them again in October for our next trip. I also just found a site that you can order small pkgs of condiments that will be perfect. It is called Timeshare Essentials and I believe they are at TSessentials.com.

I posted about them awhile back, they are the only ones so far tht I've found that sell the packets of stuff, the other thing I've been doing is to save the extra's that we get at various fast food places, it's sometimes pretty amazing the assortment you can find.

I always pack a frying pan that has a non-stick coating. The ones in the villas aren't non-stick. The pans seem to pack quite nicely upside down in my luggage.

Thanks, my DD's eat ALOT of grilled cheese sandwiches!! I'm packing the pan now!!!

I'm still up in the air about the fitted sheets though!!!

I always bring a fitted sheet down with us (I just got whatever was on sale at the local department store, but I did buy one especially for Disney).

This is because I'm a restless sleeper - I'm constantly rolling over, moving around, etc. Luckily, my DH is a heavy sleeper so I don't disturb him.

I bring the fitted sheet because I'm such a restless sleeper - with all my moving around, the non-fitted sheet moves around with me, and I've woken up either sleeping on teh bare mattress, or so encased in teh bottom sheet that I needed DH's help to untangle me (through peals of laughter, of course). This happened the one time I forgot the fitted sheet.

So it's a personal thing - what you could do is not bring one, try it for a night or two, and if you don't like how the bottom sheet behaves, run over the Wal Mart and buy a king sized fitted sheet. Shouldn't be too expensive, and of you only use it for WDW, you may not mind getting an inexpensive one.

We started bringing our own fitted sheet with us because we are used to cotton sheets with a high thread count, and we just aren't comfortable sleeping otherwise! It really helps the bed feel like ours.

If your room has the whirlpool bath you might to bring candles and bubble bath. Just be careful with the bubble bath, a little goes a long way.
