What SHOULD be in the Castle?

Cinderella's Castle is an world-known icon. Looking at it from the beginning
of Main Street brings me to tears. It is MAGICAL!
But then we walk through it, I am always disappointed. Don't get me wrong, the murals are beautiful and eating at Cinderella's Royal Table is an experience everyone should do at least once in their lifetime.
(I love the decor and eating with all the fan-fare)
And I would LOVE a night in the suite but that's NEVER going to happen for me or the majority of guests that visit.
But I hate the fact that there's a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in the castle. I mean when did Disney princesses start having colorful hair extensions and hussy make-up? And there is already at BBB at DTD.
Shopping in the castle seems so mundane.
Shouldn't there be something special is the castle, something that you can only do or see because you are at the Castle.

What would you like to see in the Castle?

I like it the way it is. You get to walk "through" the castle to get to Fantasyland. If there were anything else in there, it would cause bottlenecks, no doubt end up needing fast passes or something equivalent to control crowds and we'd all have to walk all the way round to get to Fantasyland.

What's wrong with BBB? It's for 21st century princesses ;)

I honestly like it the way it is. The murals are beautiful. I like CRT; it is expensive for what you get but I've eaten there 6 times and I got engaged there so... I also like that BBB is there. It used to be a gift shop. BBB fits in nicely. I plan to take my DD there someday.

I love the murals, I wouldn't want anything to happen to where they would be destroyed. I don't see anything wrong with leaving it the way it is.

It would be cool if they added a Cinderella attraction (not sure where though!) - a walkthrough like in Disneyland maybe, or a playground or obstacle-course that "shrinks" you to mouse size (like the honey I shrunk the kids playground), or maybe a glass slipper vault where the slipper chooses the princess (Ollivander's done princess-style?!)

DL has the walkthrough of Sleeping Beauty scenes

DLP has the dungeon with the animatronic dragon

MK used to have a gift shop that's now walled-up...*something* could easily go in there (maybe with access only from the back entrance due to castle shows)

I also like it how it is.
Actually, make that LOVE it! I think the BBB fits in perfectly. A princess 'salon' of sorts in a princess castle - makes sense to me :)

Have you been in BBB? It's actually very pretty inside, fit for a princess! We were just there on Thursday and had a wonderful experience. The bright hair extensions are not my style for a little girl (or anyone for that matter! lol) but they also offer a ballerina/princess bun w/ tiara for a more traditional look, so really there is something for those that prefer that over the 'wild' style.

Could not agree more, especially with the bolded comment. It is not the concept of the BBB I dislike, but the end product. It just doesn't seem very Disney or classy to me. The bun one isn't too terrible. I don't have a solution though.

I like it as it is. I don't think the fact that they offer other options is a bad thing either as far as the BBB experience goes. The Fairytale Princess is geared towards girls who want the classic look of a fairytale princess. The Disney Diva doesn't sound to me like they are saying is a princess style at all, and the Pop Princess is sort of a Pop star princess look that I think is geared more towards older girls who still want the experience, but don't want to look like Cinderella. There's nothing wrong with that. I think it is pretty smart of Disney to go in that direction b/c it makes them more money to give options. My girls went last year, and some of them chose one of the other options b/c they didn't want the bun. They looked gorgeous.

i would like magical beer taps with amazing brews from around the world flowing into my mouth for free as winnie the pooh feeds me honey pots full of lobster.

What should be in the castle me and the family in the apartment that is there!! Would love to be able to spend a night in the castle just to see the parks after everyone is gone.

The BBB is not about the end product. It's about the experience. The Fairy Godmothers in Training are only licensed hair braiders. So they are very limited in what they are allowed to do. I honestly have never cared about the end product. It's always been about the fun of being made over IN the castle.

So what's with all this ragging on the castle lately?

Meh, I like it the way it is now.

Having been to Disney World a few times before Disneyland, I can tell you I was sorely disappointed with Sleeping Beauty's Castle at Disneyland!:rotfl: (just kidding, but it does seem really small...)

Leave it as it is - it is perfect!!

There was no greater feeling in the world than when I ran thru it during the Princess half-marathon, coming out of the castle and seeing Main Street absolutely filled with people cheering, I truly felt like royalty princess: Very sweaty royalty, but still definately royalty!!

I think the castle is great the way it is. Much better than Disneyland. You can go inside to eat - which is GREAT!! The BBB fits in perfectly IMHO. Little girls and boys get to be made into into princesses and princes inside of a castle - how cool is that
