I have been to Disney many, many times, but I am taking my boyfriend for his first visit. I don't want to just show him all the stuff my family always does.

What would you say is a not to miss attraction, ride, anything?

Thanks!

Rope drop at Magic Kingdom the very first morning. That's where it all begins.

I have never done that. Is it only at MK or do they do it at all the parks?

Wishes fireworks at MK with the castle in background and w/the music playing. Brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it:love:

Depends how adventurous he is...

One of the things that I enjoy is Mickeys Philharmagic at MK.. I love the little clips of Disney movies in it and brings back how it all started. We usually do this in the middle of the day when there are crowds.

Over in Epcot, if you time it right, you can watch the divers in the aquarium. I think they are in there at 3:30 and 4:30 each day. Ask a CM at the Living Seas pavilion and they can tell you days and times.

You may need to put a new ticker on... I see that you are hoping to meet up with other dis'ers during your trip, but your dates aren't posted.:dance3:

Dinner in Epcot followed up by viewing Illuminations from the bridge. Love that.

There's a bit of a show at AK sometimes and characters come out or whatever at the others, but MK is the one that goes all out. Check Steve Soares "Live Entertainment" schedule for each park for best guess.

A trip on the monorail, preferably with either MK or CR as the destination. For first timers there's a real magic to sitting in the concourse having a meal and watching the monorail float through.

Thanks everyone for your input. I am going to definitely try and do some of these suggestions. Hopefully he enjoys it!

My personal favorite attractions are Philharmagic in MK, Test Track and Soarin' in EPCOT, the Lion King Show at AK, and the Muppets at DHS.

There's always lots to do and do no matter where you go in WDW, so have a great time!

One more note! : After Wishes, DO NOT LEAVE! Stick around, enjoy the evening music, lights on the castle and main street and watch the park empty out. The buses, boats and monorail run until an hour after closing so you have plenty of time to soak in the atmosphere.

I have never heard of anyone ever being told to get out. the CMs know the feeling ;)

Ask to ride in the front of the monorail if youre near the front of the line. They almost always will say yes. Cool views!!

All parks do it. They all have their little thing that they do before the park opens.
Epcot let's you in up to the Fountain. The fab five come out and say hello and then they drop the rope and we all walk, behind cast members to Soarin.

DHS let's you in halfway down the main street for their rope drop. They have streetmosphere characters put on a show. We saw the 'famous' italian director using us to film a scene. And then we stampede to Toy Story with everyone.

AK was really fun. They let you in to the first bridge and then the fab five come out and put on a show. Keep your eyes out for mickey. And then we
get over to Everest with everyone

They really make it worth getting up for.

You are no longer allowed to ride in the front of the monorail since the accident last year. Don't believe it will ever be reinstated.

I like to spend more time at my resort each year, since I really enjoy it so much.

I also have ventured into doing more with the transporation each year; try doing something different like taking more of the boat tranportation, rather than the buses.

I took my DBF for his first and second times (& only times so far!) and I had the same question as you. He knows how crazy I am about Disney, and how much meaning it has for me and how happy it makes me. Because of that, and since he was really open to everything except large drops in rides, I made sure to show him all the places I made my memories, and made new ones with him! This means I even dragged him on, yes, Carousel of Progress! And he loved it, which reinforces how much we must really have in common! ;)

Other than that, I would say the classic stuff, even if it seems too little or dare I say, boring? "it's a small world," The Enchanted Tiki Room, Dumbo, Spaceship Earth, Big Thunder, Soarin', The Little Mermaid show, the Carousel...I find that it's in the little, more carefree moments that it feels the most special. Even if DBF did get nauseous on the Carousel horse, or almost faint after Space Mountain (he thought the track was going to rip his hands off if he put them up too high)!! I think you should do what feels most special and closest to your heart, and he will see how much you love it and enjoy it too! Have a wonderful time!
