What shoes do you wear to IOA?

I love Tevas and have several pair. The flip-flops are more comfortable, but I'm afraid to wear them due to the Hulk & Dueling Dragons. I also have some Teva Hurricane sandals, but they hurt after a while. Can you suggest a shoe that can be worn in the water and is comfortable for walking around? Oh, and I don't wear Crocs. ;) Thanks!!!!!

I was just there last week and I bought a pair of Skechers. They are flip flops...however the bottom of them were more like tennis shoes Honestly the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn to a park! Everyone else had on tennis shoes with socks and were really uncomfortable after the water rides.

I've always worn a basic pair of flip flops, which are great for the water rides and for comfort on hot days. Only downside is they can be a bit treacherous on wet pavement...I've slipped a few times, and hit my head once in a parking lot (no major damage done, at least I think :scared: ). The last few trips I've tried Nike Free running shoes, which have minimal support and can be worn without socks. They are incredibly comfortable, but are not true water shoes, so the insoles do tend to stay a bit wet. For our trip next week I'm trying croc flip flops (I would NEVER wear the standard crocs). The croc flip flops are comfy and have much more traction than standard flip flops, so hopefully my feet can stay cool and my head can avoid contact with the concrete.

My croc niles (I don't like the standard crocs either).

GREAT! Thanks everyone for your suggestions! BTW, for those of you who wear flip-flop type shoes to the parks, how do you keep them on your feet while riding the Hulk? Do you take them off? TIA!!

I've never had an issue with flip flops on the Hulk...I've lost other personal items while riding the Hulk, but my footwear has always stayed intact.

Wow! I'm surprised by that. I guess it goes so fast that your shoes don't have a chance to come off.

I cant see how you could lose your shoes on the hulk. Your feet dont hang free like they do on Dueling Dragons. In that case you can sit on them!

On Dueling Dragons they have you take off your flip flops and sit on them.

Cool! I might not have to buy new shoes afterall and just wear my beloved Teva flip-flops. Thanks!

I have speedo flip flops that also have a tread on the bottom....i wear them EVERYWHERE!!!! they are super comfy and I hate tennis shoes and sweaty feet

i put my flipflops on my hands on DD....i know, go ahead and laugh, sounds funny....but i slip it on between my fingers and hold on.....well, sometimes

Putting flip flops on your hands for DD is COMMON. It's either that or sit on them. And yes, the TMs will tell you to do one or the other, as long as it is done.

OK, count me in as "anti-Croc"...wore their flip-flop version for the first time during our trip last week and came away with blisters galore along the strap lines (although traction was good...i managed not to fall down and whack my head after departing the Bilge Barges). My sweetie wore a different style of Croc flips and came away with even bigger blisters...

The search goes on for a comfy, non-blister-initiating, high traction flip flop for our October trip...

I highly recommend these..

Those shoes look great! Crocs has a pair very similar to these that I wore all 4 days at Universal/IOA. My feet were fine, and the fact that they were waterproof came in really handy:) .

I've got 3 pair of Tevas so I've decided to take them instead of buying new shoes. I'm going to wear a different pair every day. Thanks everyone for your suggestions!

nothing better than being comfy :thumbsup2

DH thought I was crazy for wearing the flip flops above - but there is nothing worse than squishing around in sneakers after they get wet:scared:

I thought about the crocs athens, but I like these ones because the straps on them are nylon/spandex.....love the traction and the fact that my feet remained dry (even when they got wet they dried off quickly) and they didn't rub or blister my feet :thumbsup2
