I have swam here before but my friend has never been. She LOVES sharks and would like to know what kind we will be swimming with. I believe it's mostly nurse sharks right?

I thought they were pool sharks

... sorry, couldn't resist ;)

A quick web-search yielded multiple sites posting:
The aquatic world of the Caribbean comes alive in Shark Reef, a 362,000-gallon saltwater pool where snorkelers swim fin-to-fin with exotic marine life including butterfly fish, French angels, tangs, groupers and even nurse sharks.

... so it looks like you're right :thumbsup2

another site added bonnet-head sharks to the list.

I have a pic from three years back of several leopard patterned ones swimming around. Not sure if they're sharks, but they're similar body styles.

I am so excited about doing this for my first time I am a bit scared though how close do they get? Sorry to go off topic

Not close at all. Your at the top of the water, and all the sharks are hugging the bottom.

The bonnetheads are about a foot long. There are also spotted ones but they are maybe a foot and a half long. Nurse sharks are totally harmless even though they are a little bigger. None of them come near you.
There are stingrays--maybe 3-4 feet across--they will swim near the surface and often rest near the exit stairs. I have heard their stingers are removed.
The experience is not at all scary.

The sharks in Shark Reef are related to Bruce in Finding Nemo, but their mantra is "People are friends, not food". And the way you can tell a Nurse Shark is that is the one, which if you are accidentally bitten, will provide Band-Aids. At least these are two things that I will tell Guests who ask at the turnstiles.
